Only some sound working - HDMI through Receiver connection

I've been frustrated for the best part of an hour trying to work out this issue in various forum post and FAQs, but no joy.

My current set-up is X360 HDMI to HD Receiver HDMI to TV. I've been using this with no issues for over 2 years.

Yesterday evening, with no changes I started to lose some sound but NOT all.

Here's some of what's working - FX moving cursor around on main guide page (swipes etc), some FX in games, Netflix movie audio

Here's some of what's NOT: start-up Xbox sting, Xbox guide button opening menu, cursor movement in the mini-guide menu, video sound (tried watching the Batman ad with no sound), most game music and sound

I've played with console settings including switching on and off display discovery, changing audio outputs down to straight stereo. I've switched HDMI cables, switched input options on the receiver with no change. When connected to the TV without receiver
and after a restart with display discovery on I was able to get full audio.

My receiver also supports pass-through HDMI, so with the receiver switched off I got full sound out of the TV speakers, then switched on the receiver in the middle and back to the same issue.

My receiver shows me that it's receiving full 5.1 audio in the info, but only some is being played out.

    HELP!

    :)

    no sound on tv only

A few days ago the sound from Cable TV ONLY doesn't work. I've checked that the cable box is working (plugging into another TV). The configuration is Xfinity Digital cable (coax) to Xbox one (hdmi) to receiver (hdmi-Denon 4311ci) to TV (hdmi). this is
the only device connected to xbox/receiver. been working for years prior. all other sound (navigation chime/sound and games playing) are fine. other connections to Xbox are external drive via sub and another sub for charging controller and headset.

Hi, give this a shot please.

    .

Power off the xbox, remove the power cable, press the power button on the xbox several times, reconnect the power cable, remove the mains power to your receiver, wait 30 seconds and power up the receiver and power the xbox on. Does that help any ?

Ok - worked it out - my receiver has 2 identified front pairs A & B, and I'd managed to switch between the two which I didn't realise was an option.

Should have been experimenting with other sources first to realise it was a receiver setting issue.

    Thanks for checking in

    HDMI port + AV Port

If only the A/V is connected, when I power on, the monitor shows 'NO INPUT

CONNECTED', and I hear the various sounds one would expect to hear through

the A/V connected receiver. When I plug in the HDMI, I continue to hear

the sounds through the A/V connected audio component, however, the 'NO INPUT

CONNECTED' message goes away, but is instead completely black.

So, something is comming through the HDMI... just not the game signal I'm

    expecting!
