Only showing 32gb of disk space

Hello I bought WD Passport 1 TB drive today.

I put it in and it shows right until I click make system drive then it does its thing and only shows 32 gb what am I doing.

Is it because maybe it needs the update that was on my 4gb flash drive?

I guess maybe I could try to reinstall with only one drive.

An external USB drive is only support up to 32GB no matter what the size of the drive inserted is. How much space do you have left of the 32GB limit?

You can only use 32Gb to store some Xbox related content such games, saves etc... You can use a larger disk space to read content such movies and music but your USB hard drive must be FAT32 formated as the 360 doesn't manage NTFS.

 

Make sure your dashboard firmware is updated, and then format the drive with the 360.

 

Like @Irixion said, make sure that your firmware is up to date. But you also need to make sure that your storage device is correctly formatted. You can find this at support.xbox.com

The firmware I believe is up to date. What I did to fix it was I kept a 4gb usb flash drive as the configured drive. And added the 1 tb as regular storage and it saves the games there and works ok.

None of this helps. I can't update the firmware without choosing a system disk. If i setup the system disk before update I can only create 32 gb of space. I have let the xbox create the partitions with no luck.
