Only party audio playing through headset?

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums.

Adjusting the
balance for party or game chat can be configured differently based on the type of headset or earphone piece you are using.

If your headset has a adapter attached to it, then you should be able to make those adjustments via that piece

If not, then you have to go to the Audio setting on the Xbox guide to adjust this. This can be done by following these simple steps:

1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.
2. Scroll over the the right to where you see System.
3. In between Settings and Xbox Assist, you will see the option for
   Audio. Once selected you should be able to see three bars that you can toggle.
   1. Headset volume will allow you to adjust how low or high the volume is projected from your headset/earphone piece.
   2. Headset chat mixer will give you the ability to balance more of the game audio and chat, or your party chat.
   3. Mic monitoring will determining how sensitive your mic is to your voice and the outside audio.

Give this a try and let us know if you are able to make configurations this way!

That's at its' highest volume.

Same issue with my sons headset. Tried 2 diff controllers and still nothing. Theres microphone icon on the home screen with a line through it. Is there a way to unmute that?

If you press the Xbox button on your controller and the menu opens up, scroll across to the settings tab and click on the audio section. Alter the 'headset chat mixer' to the icon that looks like an Xbox controller and it should hopefully work!

I used to have headset issues with my controller. I found turning the controller on and off again and un plugging the headset helped as well as having game volume one off full and chat party mixer up to 70% hope this helps
