Sounds about right. I still think they started this promotion way too early for the Xbox One. There just aren't enough games out right now. No game company wants to give away their titles 6 months after release.
How is this about right? Thats not the way it works. No game company is giving their games away at any time. MS offers to pay the publisher a set amount to offer a given game to users for no charge under GwG and its up to the publisher to decide
if they think that is worth it to them. The publisher makes money, and in fact MS makes money because the users are paying for gold which is where all the money is coming from. There are many reasons for wanting to give away a game anyway even if they werent
getting paid such as hoping users will buy DLC or their next game or something.

Too soon for Outlast to go free really. Be interesting to see what is next.
It isnt too soon for Outlast to go free, as PSN+ users got it 6 months ago on its release on PS4. As pointed out above, the publisher would not actually be offering it to you for free. Maybe MS just didnt offer them a deal.

Would it have killed Microsoft to give out an exclusive like Ryse or Forza 5? smh.

5. I think people are way too focused on that its 1 game instead of the fact its a NEW game being launched as free. I'm sure some knew this game would come, but to launch free? I personally wouldn't of even bothered with this game & now I'll get to play it.
Also the way it won't be 2 games that I already bought.

I'm not saying this is the best thing ever tho.

We're all gonna have to get used to all the different feelings of GwG choices. Just like it started a year ago.

I just like the idea that we may get more newly launched games for free, not just old played out releases.

@Wretched, while it was free as soon as it released I believe that it was simply because the Whistleblower dlc released like a week after it was put on the PSN store and they made their money off of that.

garbage? from what I hear, guacamelee is awesome. in any case, if you read the article it says that guacamelee is replacing halo, specifically. seems to be then that max will remain free while halo is out.

The whistleblower DLC released the same day as the core game for $8.99 on Xbox One. So by your logic, they could give us the game for free and make their money off the DLC.

I am disappointed, we still get two free games, but one has been available all June.

I don't expect AAA titles by any means, but I expect MS to rotate the two free games each month.

I've been so impressed with how MS has been going recently, this move has left a bad taste in my mouth...

12. It is when you're Microsoft and you know a lot of people will go out and buy it, and the DLC, because of the amount of good feedback the game has received.

LOL SKILL, I wouldn't expect Forza 5 anytime soon as they are releasing that complete edition or whatever this month.
His logic is one thing, but his facts are wrong. Outlast was released for free in January on PSN+, Whistleblower wasnt released until May. Im sure Red Barrels knew they would be releasing the DLC and this probably factored into their decision to
offer it for free, but the fact is Sony paid them some amount of money to do it, the same as MS could have done on its release on Xbox One if they had wanted to any other circumstances notwithstanding.
Your original statement was that it was "too soon for Outlast to go free", which is wrong. Its purely a business decision as you have now pointed out and I pointed out earlier. MS could certainly have done it on release if they and Red Barrels
could have come to a deal that satisfied them both. The good feedback came from the PC game originally, and that didnt stop Sony from offering it on release. Unless you were in the room with them, I dont think you know what their reasons were or if they
even thought about it.

Could care less...I don't think of GWG as a subscription service,. If (I did/it was) I would expect more. As it is, just an optional add on to a service I pay about $3.50 a month for. Certainly would not expect top of the line games for such a low monthly
payment. If it was a true subscription service I would expect to choose/vote for which games are available and it probably would cost more.
