Only let's me play trial of game

I had a 360 slim but it got the ring of death. A friend gave us his normal 360 so I formatted his Xbox and downloaded our data onto his. There's a game called spelunky that I had played on my Xbox, I had the full version, he had spelunky but I didn't look and see if it was the full version or not. It only allows me to play the trial and yet I can delete it and it'll say re-download full version, still only let's me play trial version though.

Based on your description, you are playing Spelunky in your previous Xbox 360 Slim console in full version and currently on different Xbox 360 console you are seeing trial version of the game. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

Since this is related to trial version of the game Spelunky. We would like to know more details about your concern:

May we ask if you are having trial version with other game titles aside from Spelunky?
May we know if your Xbox live were signed in when playing Spelunky?
Can you see your game Spelunky in Xbox 360 game library?
Do you have this game Spelunky in disk or digital license?
Is your profile the one you used in Xbox 360 while playing Spelunky?

It's not in my download history. It came on the memory card I purchased and only let's me play with the memory card in my old Xbox. It is the full game and not the trial on the memory card.

I've also tried the license transfer but it only let's me download the trial or purchase.

What money? Trials are free.

Trials do not give you full gold membership,they only give you limited access to some xbox live gold features.

Some games will not let you play online with a trial,you would need a full gold subscription.

Certain trials will only let you play online on the game they came with.
