Only get gameplay audio on xbox one

i am currently getting no sound other than gameplay on my xbox. If i join a party it says that it is unable to find a microphone for me. Now i have just gone and bought a new headset thinking it was broken but it is thr same issue with thr new one. Even
when on the home screen, it isnt making the normal stock xbox noises when i scroll down or to the side, even when i press the home button there is no noise.

360 hdmi to tv optical to soundbar producing no sound. Xbox one also hooked via hdmi works fine.

Hi, if you swap the hdmi connections over on the tv so the xbox 360 uses input 1 and the xbox one uses input 2 do you then get audio from the xbox 360 and not the xbox one ?

Some hdmi inputs only accept the video signal and not the audio which would explain why you only get audio from whichever device is connected to the hdmi port on the tv which accepts both video and audio.

 

Minecraft freezing at loading screen every time

Just downloaded minecraft last night on my xbox one. Every time I get to loading screen game freezes along with audio. Tried system restart. Tried reinstalling the game. Can't even get to gameplay. I effectively gave Microsoft $20 for a game I can't
play. Very frustrated.

 

Perform a hard reset EXACTLY like this.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

If that doesn't work try testing with a different controller.

 

If you use a headset with a 3.5 mm plug and 3 rings on the connector, know that there are two standards for those headset connectors called "OMTP" and "CTIA".

If you have 3 headsets with a OMTP setup, then the headset is "talking" to the ground pin of the controller, and the controller is "listening" for the microphone on the ground-pin of the headset.

You need to get a CTIA to OMTP adapter, which simply reverses these two contacts. You can get these adapters online or in most cellphone stores.
