Only 4 more months till Xbox One X is out

This year is going by fast. Xbox One X is a major hardware revision of the Xbox One original and S versions. Microsoft gave full glory about it's hardware specs. Sony fans love talking about specs (but only if it's on the competitions platform). So Microsoft,
lets repeat the benefits and those specs:

12GB GDDR5 @ 326GB/s bandwidth, with 9GB of that available to gaming.

2.3Ghz AMD 8 physical core processor

6 Teraflop GPU (40 compute cores, 1172Mhz)

4k Blu-ray disc player

Smaller than the Xbox One S

4k Minecraft super duper graphics

Better and faster console functionality and gaming processing power.

Does not require a 4k HDTV to run.

Higher visual fidelity, even on 1080p screens.

No external power brick.

8GB flash and 1TB HDD.

State of the art cooling system, a first for the consoles.

I'm looking forward to playing Minecraft and Final Fantasy XV with higher visual fidelity. No or minimal blurriness. Also looking forward to getting mine day one on 7/11/2017.

DLC on multiple consoles

I just did one a couple of weeks ago, and it was only 3 or 4 months till it said the nxt one could be performed. They may have allowed more transfers or whatever in the recent past, without telling everyone. Because i was expecting for it to say one year
till next one, but it was only a few months.

I want install options on X1X - so you can decide what 4K stuff you don't need and similar. Why waste disk space with that?

Same as a setting in OS for updates - what might be 4K exlusive left behind and not wasting download bandwidth on that.

Make something about user interface more exclusive feel to it - I want to customize my home screen space fully.

Even say no to MS ads and free Gold, or payed $10 if I get Gold and what they can come up with next - pay me $100 and I won't get it anyway.

My home screen is financed by me - not by unwanted ads, that was never the deal.

But probably wait a couple of years to get any games fully adjusted to X1X, and games down in price and fully patched for bugs before getting any.

And can get clarity on my concerns about how big games will be.

 

BookishFlunky, what type of ads do you have? I don't have any except to say there is a gaming sale or games with gold, but no ads.

I can't wait either for the console and while I can afford it I think it's priced too high. I know it's worth it etc etc but it's still priced too high. Let's be honest and say we need a 4K TV with it. I know it will look better on your 1080p set, but if
you're spending €500 then you might as well use it to it's intended capabilities and play on a 4K tv. If that's the case then you might as well add another €600 on top of the cost.

If you are a first time console buyer than the PS4 or Xbox One S look like better options. You can get both for the cost of one Xbox One X.

 

It's just the crap I mentioned "Try Gold a month", and when I didn't "Try Gold a month and get $1 on your account" - what is next. "We will send you a box of lollipops if you try Gold"

And if I'm offline - there comes a blob saying - "Connect to Live".

- yeah, I'm offline because I want to, not your business

- But how are we to know everything you do if you are offline

Nothing in X1 goes to usb:

- we told you to use OneDrive - then when that is full we charge you for more storage

- But I can't use the gift card to pay for that

MS:

- no we want your card credentials so we know where you live and be able to charge when we want

It's all marketing ads to trick us to be dependent of being online and know everything about you when you are.

You noticed how you could not verify your Microsoft account with just email - it should be phone number and stuff - "it's all for your security" - yeah, right.

We soon probably are to get Kinect for free - then MS have a camera right into your living room, to start as they please - that would be smashing.

MS:

- and we made this instant start thingy, so updates are done overnight - and we can have a peek in your living room with Kinect while you sleep.

This is all fabricated of course, apart from Gold offers, but plausible enough for everybody not to be a sucker and believe everything is there with your own best interests in mind.

I ran PS3 2010-2012, 360 since then, and X1 since last fall when prices dropped 30%. I really should have stayed on 360 alone, nothing in X1 that enhanced anything.

Just more to download that takes more hdd space, and I had to double my internet fees to even get by downloading patches for a couple of games.

What does it help if a console is so-so times stronger, if everything it is to handle is so-so bigger?

It will be NZ$749 the full RRP or AU$649. Retailers incl. JB Hi Fi might shave a few dollars off the launch price. It is priced more than the PS4 Pro because the hardware is more better and expensive. And when you build a custom PC to match or best the X
performance and quality and warranty YOU CAN'T currently do it while sticking to a strict budget of US$499.

 

The cycle that ms need to break is the library of games, not the gigmeganonsenceflops, I couldn't own just an Xbox since 2013. But hey, whatever, let's see where this take console gaming.

 

While Xbox One's primary focus is gaming, it's not JUST a gaming console. It's like a multi media entertainment centre. It will have a 4k Blu-ray disc player. The competition console owns Blu-ray, yet they don't have a 4k Blu-ray
disc player on their flagship console. Xbox One X also has better hardware, which means better processing power when it comes to games and console performance. No one wants a laggy console. It will also be able to play games at 1080p native rather than unscaled
sub-1080p. It has games like Screamride, Kinect Sports Rivals, and Zoo Tycoon, which are not found on the competition console. Younger generations are the future of Xbox, and we care at least a little about how well games perform and not too blurry graphics,
and console efficiency too in terms of processing power. And this is what Xbox One X will deliver. That is why Microsoft and Phil Spencer went on a lot about specs. They are sick of Sony fans bashing Xbox about being the weaker brand. Microsoft also owns Minecraft
now, since they acquired it. That means we may get DLC exclusive to Xbox, and get DLC before the competition.

 

Define "laggy console".

I'm playing on Xbox One S and I've had ZERO lag for any of the multitude of games I've been playing since day dot. You're making a case for One X having better hardware but the truth of the matter is that "the competition" also has a superior console if
you're looking for speed bumps over resolution. Plus, the competition is also offering a pure white console (comparable to the bewdiful One S) that Microsoft is *not* offering - at least in 2017.

Finally, you're putting Screamride, Kinect Sports Rivals and Zoo Tycoon up against the likes of Wipeout Omega Collection, Horizon Zero Dawn and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy in this fiscal year? Puh-lease do yourself a favor and 'get gud' with your crystal
ball stargazing ^.^

You mean like Forza franchise,Elite Dangerous,ect....on Xbox one (& S).Incredible,all this "power" to do what is possible to do for mostly 4 years on current gen consoles.

Can't wait see how many games will be currently in native 4K. (more, or less ? than native 1080p games found on Xbox one,suspense).

 

Forza series on XB1 is quite stunning tbh, bringing more to my point of saying that hardware improvements aren't really necessary for a few years. Ms want to stay in the console game, I'm glad about that and could only hope to get more publishers on board.
Maybe some more in-house work like the new Crackdown? It's a real pity that Fable is gone, It started from such great heights for the first 2 games. I love the Xb1 though it would be naive for me to say that it's the only console I need, hardware improvements
won't change this.

 

Not sure if Crackdown 3 is made by first party studios. (i think it's similar to Killer Instinct,2nd party studios).

And it's clear that Xbox needs new 1st parties studios and new IPs.(something similar to Sunset Overdrive)

Since late 2015,Team Xbox clearly dropped the ball on gaming on Xbox.

Even if it wouldn't be a success.i still don't understand why Team Xbox didn't try to show their support by bringing Age of Empire on Xbox.

Success or not,it didn't stop them from bringing Xbox exclusives on PC. (As far as i know none where sucessful on PC).

Since there are no more exclusives,Team Xbox really needs to focus on 1st party studios.(more than ever).

 

These are the things I'm going to do when Xbox One X comes out:

- Play console brand exclusives, such as Kinect Sports Rivals, Screamride, and Zoo Tycoon.

- Play Forza Horizon 3, Final Fantasy XV, Minecraft super duper graphics.

- Watch YouTube and Netflix.

- Take 12MP photos of it using my Samsung S8, and videos of it, and post them up on social media including YouTube.

Xbox is a great platform to be with. And I'm glad I chose it in late 2010. I have tried PS2 and PS4 Pro, didn't really like it. But everyone has their own opinions. Xbox 360 had features which the 'enemy' doesn't. Avatars, voice
messaging, and a big one, party chat. And the people for the most part, are great. Xbox One X is also a multi media device too, watch 4k Blu-ray disc movies without having to stream 4k content on a not-always-reliable internet infrastructure. And watch 4k
movies on Blu-ray with no internet connection required XD or large 4k file to download. Several people had a hissy about the 70GB Cutscene DLC for Quantum Break, and that was only in 1080p resolution. Not to mention Microsoft acquired Minecraft and Skype.
And resolution appeals to the younger generations which are like the future of Xbox. Microsoft even compared the resolution evolution Xbox has made between 2001 and 2017, at E3 2017. I was pretty impressed with it, that I put a lot of effort (well, not really)
into making my own. Since Microsoft allows us to now post pictures on the forums, this is great. And be proud of Minecraft. It came out first on Xbox 360 than it did on the 'competition' brand console. Phil Spencer plays Minecraft. Maybe even the CEO of Microsoft
does too. It does help grow the imagination and creativity in us. When I first got Minecraft, I made so many friends. Also surprised at how fast this year has gone by too.
