Manage app privacy settings on your Xbox One console

To manage your app privacy settings and data collected from your console:

1. On your Xbox One console, select Settings > Privacy & online safety > App privacy.
2. From the list, select the checkboxes next to the data for which you’re giving permission to be collected.

Note When you give apps permission on a console, it’s only saved on that console. If you use multiple consoles, make sure you give your apps permission on all your consoles.

Manage app privacy settings for your child’s account

If you’re using a child account, you’ll need an adult who’s part of your family to sign in to their Microsoft account to change your privacy settings. To manage the app privacy settings and what type of data is collected from your child’s account on the
console:

1. Sign in to the console with the adult’s Microsoft account.
2. Go to Settings > Family.
3. Select the child account you’d like to manage, and then go to Privacy & online safety > App privacy to give permission.

Note If multiple gamers are signed in, apps can only access data for which everyone has given permission.

Look over this
article that explains how to update your online and privacy settings on the Xbox console or from Xbox.com.

Just be aware child accounts need permission to change any settings from a verified adult account.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums today. I'm sorry to hear about the current trouble getting the content restrictions. I would like to clarify, when you see this message is it when trying to purchase a game? Have you checked the family settings online? If
you want to manage your child's privacy settings, see How a parent can change the privacy and
online safety settings for a child account.

If you’re allowing your child to buy the game or video to which you’re granting an exception, the content must be purchased, downloaded, and installed before you can give permission to use it.

1. Have your child sign in to their account on the Xbox One console.
2. Locate the content you want to allow your child to access.
3. On the Choose who will give permission screen, select the account of the adult family member who's providing permission.
4. Enter the adult’s account email address and password, or the console’s passkey.
   
5. Select either Always or Just this once.

After you give permission for your child to use this content, they can open the content immediately.
