    Online status.


    I put my profile on "Appear Online" and it tells me that I'm online. However, all my friends tell me that I appear offline to them and when i sign in on my second account simultaneously as my first one, my normal account is offline. PLEASE can you fix this
    as all my friends complain and I don't have an excuse. Thank you for your time.

    New Xbox Experience - appear offline?

    In the previous dash it had a dropdown box with 'appearing online' and 'appear offline' along with a status to the left that showed how you appeared to everyone else. Now in the new xbox dash it shows a box which changes between appear online and appear offline, with no status. So my question is whether 'appear online' showing on the button is my current status meaning I am showing as online, or what the button will do if I select it, meaning I am currently offline? I've tried going on the xbox 360 with an alternate profile to check it but it doesnt seem to make a difference.

    Xbox One Friends Online Notifications

    I think I know what the problem is with the lack of friend notifications.

    I noticed that when I first visited my profile on the X1 my status was set to offline without me having set it to this myself, so assuming this is set by default for everybody, no one will get notifications unless you change your status to online.

    Online status is not a persistent setting on the 360 and you have to set it first before you sign in to your Gamertag to get the desired behaviour.

    This problem also occurs on the mobile app where my friend (who plays on switch) can't toggle the online status.
