Online status - cannot change

Hellooooo,

Ever since yesterday, I've been unable to change my online status on Xbox Live. It's permanently in Offline. I'm playing on an Xbox Series S but the same problem persists on an Xbox One in the same house. Whenever I try to change it to 'Online', the status says 'Unknown' and returns to Offline.

In testing, things I've tried/checked that don't work:

- Signed out and in again - retried with no luck.

- Signed into a separate Xbox console in the same house - same problem exists.

- Uninstalled my profile/re-installed - no luck

- Hard shut down of Xbox - no luck

Interesting though:

- My partner's account on both the Xbox Series S and Xbox One works fine. Online status can be changed.

May be unrelated but...:

- I can still join Xbox Live parties and co-op in Destiny 2.

- When I'm in an Xbox Live party, I can hear people but they can't hear me. Normally they can hear me but since this reported issue it seems I can only hear them.

I've never had this issue. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Mine seems to have fixed itself now. I can change between online and offline like normal.

I don’t know of a quick fix myself but someone else might. Otherwise I’ll try it again tomorrow.

This issue has been happening with some users of Xbox and on apps, indeed. We believe is just an instability right now. But, just so you know, you are able to play online, even appearing offline to your friends.
