Online Servers For Older Games

Is it possible to have online servers for older games turned back on? It seems a shame that if you pay money for a game (sometimes a lot) you can't have access to all of the features simply because it is an older game and the server is shut off.

But you know that is hard for the developers keeping old games servers online, since they got new games and became expensive keeping old servers games online. Microsoft cannot have the servers, because they belong to the developer and not to the console
platform.

Hey Xendrago thanks for taking the time to post but this issue is on the developers end since they are in charge of the servers. Reach out to them maybe they would be able to assist with the issue at hand!

 

It would be up to the game developer to turn the servers back on. There is a cost to run those servers, and they would likely only want to do it if the game was seeing a lot of use. A company is not going to lose money just to keep a handful of players
going.

Older games might also have been made by developers than no longer exist, and so there is no one to even run the server.
