Online presence feature not working

Recently i had noticed when my friend is playing a PC game such as Call of duty world at war everyone can see that hes playing that game on XBL. When I am playing the same game or any other supported games it only shows that I am in the Xbox app instead
of displaying the game Im playing. I have checked all my privacy settings to make sure i can share recent games and apps i have used. Also that app does show that i have recently played one of my PC games and i can even upload clips to share with my friends
on Xbox, so far everything works except for the online presence feature for me. I am using the Beta version currently as the normal one wouldn't let my even upload my game clips because they were unrecognized. Anyone know how i could fix this ?

Hey there, since you're using a Beta version of the app, It's possible this may be a bug. Are you noticing a similar issue on the Xbox console as well?

 

Same thing here, I'm trying to figure out how to show my online presence for PC games instead of just saying Xbox app.

 

Are you using a different platform to play these games (e.g. steam)?

Coming back to this thread after a year and I wanted to know if the list for online presence for PC games will ever be expanded. New games for PC like Shadow of War, Destiny 2, and Marvel vs Capcom Infinite to name a few, show my status as "Xbox App". I
would like to know if the Xbox team will ever update this feature or has support for newer games come to an end. Look forward to hearing back as I like this feature, it makes the PC and Xbox community feel like one.
