Online Multiplayer Gaming with Two Xbox Ones and Family Members

I’ve looked everywhere and cannot find anything on this.



I have two Xbox Ones in my house, and one Live Account. Me and my kids each have our own profiles under that account.



I’d like to play online games, like StarWars Battlefront with them on the two consoles, but I cannot get it to work. After much effort, we were able to join a party together, but we cannot play the game together. “Inviting” the other to play the game
does not work, and when we launch the game the party is not recognized, and we cannot see eachother in the friends list.



Is this possible? Do other games support this?

Are you saying you are trying to share one gold account on both consoles?

Sign your gold account in on your kids console then make that console your 'home console'

This will allow you to share gold with your kids accounts on that console.

Then sign in with your gold profile on your own console and you should be able to play against them

Or have you already done this and are having some other network problem?

 

I am sharing one Gold account on both consoles. The kids Console is the "Home" console. I have no problems launching and playing the game on either console.

The problem is I want to create a party, and play online with them. But when I go into the game (Battlefront), I cannot see them. They are not in my party, I cannot add them from within battlefront either. My other friends show, but not them.

I just set this up and am unsure if other games have this problem or not. I assume it is a problem with Live and not the game.

 

What kind of modem and router are you using ? 2 xbox ones will require a gaming router that supports multiple consoles...

 

I'm running a wired network with a Linksys router. Can't recall the model number but it's a higher end gigabit router. I don't think this is a network issue. It's a "Can I do this with 2 XBOX's" question.

 

Only if your have a router that supports multiple consoles...most do not...

Yes. I'm not sure what he meant by that comment.

Regardless, this issue was caused by my Router not handling UPnP port forwarding correctly with two consoles. I ended up getting a netgear router and installing DD-WRT on it. Worked like a charm.
