Online multiplayer FH3 PC - Xbox One

Hi,

I want to play Forza Horizon 3 with my friends but, my friends have the PC version of the game, I have the Xbox One version.

Is it possible to play with "different" versions of the game (PC version and Xbox version)?

Is xbox live gold required?

Hi Francesco,

Yes, that’s correct. This is the same with a few Xbox games, including Forza Horizon 3 and 4.

Just to add, if you have Xbox Live Gold, I’d recommend upgrading to an Ultimate subscription, which has Gold, gamepass and soon EA access all in one, with a “bundle
discount”

So if my friends want to play together on the PC version, they don't need to have the xbox live gold subscription (so multiplayer is free like Steam).

If I want to play the xbox version with my friends, I can because FH3 is an "Xbox play anywhere" game but i need to have xbox live gold.

So only the player on the xbox need to have xbox live gold, right?

Hi Francesco,

Yes, Forza Horizon 3 offers seamless Cross-Play support powered by Xbox Live, linking players on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC together in the same game session. This is all confirmed and explained

here.

You would still need Xbox Live Gold to play online on Xbox though. However, you don’t need Xbox Live Gold to play online on PC.

For the setting i prefer FH4, but for the online multiplayer i prefer FH3.

Many people have tried this. They always close the thread since FH3 is an EoL game. But they promised multiplayer will remain, and it only works on the Series/One X as far as I know. We can't contact them. By we, I mean everyone who plays on PC.
