Online multiplayer at a hotel?

If you have a laptop or a smartphone on you, you could make it work. However since hotel internet is usually pretty slow it's not adviced to game on it since you can't forward ports and will most likely lag or be unable to find a game.

Anyway... If you have a laptop you can sign into the webpage authorization and connect an ethernet cable from your laptop into your Xbox.

Then you go to Controlpanel->Network & sharing-> change adapter settings

In there you will see your WIFI and your LAN connection, select both of them, right click , create bridge connection.

This should make the wifi flow through to the Xbox One.

When you're done with gaming you can just right click it again and unlink

If you have a smartphone you can create a wifi hotspot but you'll have to check the manual if it has that option. If you use that option just make sure you have it plugged into the charger as it drains battery.

the answer is simple Microsoft does not want you to use the alt mac address been an issue since Feb of 2014 since that fated update came out it broke the online gaming aspect of the alt mac address. the reuse time and time again to fix this bug and lock
all threads that bring up this huge problem.

You can sometimes tether your phones network data to a WiFi hotspot and connect that way, but it can use a LOT of mobile data, and if you don't have unlimited data etc, then you may get charged by your network - so I would not recommend this.

Destiny requires all the Xbox ports to be open and a stable connection to play, since hotels won't allow you to portforward your console and most likely do not have UPnP enabled you won't be able to play online.

Most WiFi connections at hotels are data limited on an hourly basis. Also, considering that an average hotel has many people using the same connection concurrently, which increases load and ping times, as well as connection speeds. With these three things
constantly fluctuating, it is hard to keep a stable enough connection to play online games.

Hotel WiFi is meant for simple tasks such as web browsing, email, and other similar activities. Online gaming requires more bandwidth than can be given at a hotel for a decent experience.

As much as it sucks, there's not way around it. If you have a wireless hotspot provided by Verizon or another wireless data service, it could be better, but not by much.
