Online auction site showing Xbox Ones with games on the hard drive... can they do that?

I am puzzled by the EBay sellers that are selling their Xbox One with games on the HD. Surely the games are tied to the Live account, and as such, cannot be sold... aren't they? Or have I missed something about how digital games now work on the Xbox One?

Been out of the gaming loop for a few years, so not sure what has changed, and can't find anything related to this on the net.

Can I use a any external hard drive to download GTA: San Andreas and other Original Xbox games?

Xbox original games require an official Xbox hard drive. You can't use external hard drives or USB Flash drives as they won't work with that game, even if you managed to download it to them. Xbox original games require both the Xbox emulation software
and a hard drive cache to run. Both the emulator and the cache are only available on an official hard drive.

Don't bother with cheaper Xbox 360 hard drives from private sellers on Amazon or auction sites such as eBay either as these are fake hard drives and are missing the emulator and the required hard drive cache.

I would agree with DigitalAssassin. There have been many Xbox 360 players who have lost their saves and data from non-licensed hard drives. Also be on the look out for counterfeit licensed drives if you happen to try to buy any online on an auction or
foreign site.

Yes. It's against the terms to sell digital licenses. The games are tied to the original account that purchased them. The licenses kind of work the same on the One as they do on the 360. If the console is set as your Home console any profiles on the console
can share the content. So if the ebay seller sells the console and then ends up buying a new One and setting it as their Home console, the new owners will lose access to those games.

From where did you buy your hard drive from? How much was it? Is it an official Xbox hard drive? If you bought a cheaper hard drive from a private seller on Amazon or an auction site, it is highly likely that your hard drive is not an official Xbox hard
drive. Original Xbox games will not load on un-official hard drives.

The information support gave you is incorrect, the latest update has not removed the ability to play original Xbox games that were made backwards compatible. My original games work just fine.

To play original Xbox games, your console requires a hard drive. This hard drive must be an official Xbox 360 hard drive. If you have purchased your drive from an auction site such as eBay, or from a private seller on sites such as Amazon, the chances are
your hard drive is a fake unit.

You can not run original Xbox games on the new Slim console if it only has the 4GB of internal storage. These 4GB consoles require a hard drive, and like I stated earlier, it must be on official Xbox 360 hard drive.

Has it ever started up? The game will only work if you have a hard drive, a USB for storage will not work, so if you have a 4Gb Xbox 360 try getting a hard drive for it. This was my experience, I have a 4Gb but recently bought a 120Gb hard drive from a popular
auction site, now the game works fine.
