ONKYO, TV and XBOX ONE confusion!!!

    Hello All,

I'm new to the forum, so thank you in advance for any and all advice. I have an ONKYO HT-S3300 5.1 surround sound system. Connected to this is my set top cable box and my Xbox One. The issue I'm having is that the following connection has not been working
    for me.

Set top box > xbox one > ONKYO > TV.

When doing this, my Xbox one will not display TV through the A/V receiver. When I designate each their own HDMI port through the A/V receiver, they all work perfectly fine.

On the setup listed above, when I hard reboot the XBOX One, I get TV for a couple of seconds, then the screen turns blue and it gives me a HDCP error. I cannot figure out for the life of me how to have my:

cable HDMI to the xbox one in, xbox out to ONKYO a/v HDMI 1 in, a/v out to HDMI 1 on the TV.

Anyone know of a remedy or a way to resolve this issue?

Thank you All. You have a wonderful forum

    ~Christian

4K Pass through not working with XBox One S

    Hi there

I have an Onkyo TX-NR747, a Sony KD-55XD9305 and an Xbox One S.

When I connect the XBox to the TV directly I get full 4K functionality as well as HDR. However, when I connect the XBox to my TV through the Onkyo it then fails to detect the TV properly and won't play 4K, it does play normal HD though.

As I know the XBox can work on 4K with the TV, what's going wrong when the Onkyo gets in the middle? Is this an XBox issue with the Onkyo or a problem with the Onkyo? Can XBox One S still work through an amp?

Please help as I upgraded by Amp specifically to play my XBox One S.

    Thanks

Correction, I meant to say I have my DirecTV DVR hooked into my Xbox One, and then the Xbox One and PS4 into my Onkyo, then the Onkyo into my Sony Bravia TV.

ONKYO, TV and XBOX ONE confusion!!!

Let me guess, Motorola STB, probably on Comcast? A lot of Motorola STBs have a firmware limitation of allowing 2 upstream HDMI devices in the chain--in your case the TV is the third and, thus, you get an HDCP error. It is ridiculous and something Motorola
should have fixed years ago (MS can probably do nothing about it other than try to wield influence). You can find threads about this on the AVS forum etc. that long pre-date the One (it affects Google TV etc. also). One good, inexpensive workaround is to
buy the Monoprice 8204 splitter and put it immediately after the STB, running one of the 8204's outputs to the One (as a side benefit, you can run the other output to your receiver so that you can watch TV while the One is off also):

    www.monoprice.com/Product

It is thought to work by acting as an HDMI sink, thereby not letting the STB see the upstream devices beyond it. Regardless, it does work and works well in my setup, which is similar to yours.

Oh and I've tried different HDMI cables. Hooking it directly up to my Onkyo receiver works fine. Setup is STB -> Xbox One -> Onkyo Receiver -> TV

No Sound Through Turtlebeach XO One Headset

I tested this plugging headphones directly into TV and it worked. So the issue has to be between the XBox One and the Onkyo Receiver
