Onkyo Receiver Not Working With Xbox One

I'm having trouble getting my Onkyo TX-NR727 A/V receiver to work with my Xbox One. The audio is fine whether playing games, watching TV, or Bluetoothing music from a phone. However, the Kinect voice controls don't work with my receiver, specifically Volume
Up/Down, Mute, or Turn Off/On. I set my system up per Microsoft's recommended guidelines: TV Cable box -> Xbox One -> A/V receiver -> TV (all via HDMI). The other 3 components sync'd up perfectly; OneGuide works, the TV and cable box turn on/off along with
the Xbox when commanded to (via IR blasting I know), the play/pause functions are great, etc. All that just amplifies the fact I still have to grab one remote to turn the receiver on or off after telling the Xbox to turn everything else off, or having to grab
the remote to turn the volume up a little. So with that being said, I've tried setting up the receiver a couple different ways, but none work. My biggest confusion comes when I try to select a receiver on the Xbox One's drop down list. The only two choices
I have for my receiver are "Onkyo TX-NR727 (Zone 2)" or "Onkyo TX-NR727 (Zone 3)". Now my receiver has the capability to output audio to multiple "zones" if I had (for example) speakers out on the deck or in the kitchen in addition to the "main room". But
I don't, I only have speakers in what I would call "Zone 1". But that's not an option, nor is there just a default "Onkyo TX-NR727". I've tried choosing both zones; neither work with the Kinect voice controls (but both transmit audio). I've tried turning on
both Zone 2/3 and setting their inputs as the Xbox, to no avail. I've come here to see what I'm missing!? The only thing I've vaguely read about but do not fully understand that may be the issue is I do not have "RIHD" enabled. This is Onkyo's version of CEC
or Consumer Electronics Control. I tried enabling it, lost video output to the TV somehow, by some miracle was able to recover it, and immediately disabled it again before I messed things up, all without ever getting the voice commands to work... I'm hoping
that either a Moderator can assist me with isolating my problem or another member of the community with my same setup who does have everything sync'd and working can help me out. Thank you for your patience and help! TLOnkyo Receiver Not Working With Xbox One :DR - Xbox One's Kinect voice commands
don't turn off/on nor control the audio of my Onkyo TX-NR727 receiver (but works with everything else) and I can't figure out why.

  3. Onkyo receiver not working with Xbox One

I have a TX-NR609 and I believe it is the next model down from the OP. I set it up through the normal setup and I have not had any problems with it. The receiver along with my tv turns on when I say "xbox on". It also works when I say volume up, Mute, down
etc. It is working as I figured it would.

Try telling the Xbox that it is a different model Onkyo (such as a prior or subsequent year's model in the 7xx line). It is likely that most recent Onkyo models use the same or similar enough IR codesets. Pretty sure that when you are picking your TV, receiver,
etc. model on the One, it is primarily (if not completely) for purposes of configuring the One to transmit the correct IR codes for your particular devices.

Oh and I've tried different HDMI cables. Hooking it directly up to my Onkyo receiver works fine. Setup is STB -> Xbox One -> Onkyo Receiver -> TV

I tested this plugging headphones directly into TV and it worked. So the issue has to be between the XBox One and the Onkyo Receiver
