Onkyo receiver not working w/Xbox One

I have a similar but different issue... My Onkyo system turns on just fine when I say "Xbox On", and it responds to volume just fine... but it won't turn off when I say "Xbox, Turn off".

The setup has "Toggle" as the only choice, and it's set correctly in both start up and shut down in the settings.

It's not the worst thing in the world if I have to manually turn it off, but it's the one annoying glitch in an otherwise seamless integration of Xbox One, voice commands, and my home theater and cable DVR set-up.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have the Onkyo TX-SR607 and mine works perfectly. Everything boots up with my xbox, and everything turns off when I turn off my xbox. Very impressed. I would maybe try to re-setup your receiver? Also check the settings to make sure turning the receiver
on and off is enabled.

Onkyo receiver not working w/Xbox One

My Onkyo TX-NR626 doesn't turn off/on or volume control from xbox one but the model is recognized in setup. Anyone else having this issue? Any solutions/suggestions? TIA

Thanks for the response, yeah good suggestions, but I tried both of those. What's up with the Zone 2 & Zone 3 options?

Oh and I've tried different HDMI cables. Hooking it directly up to my Onkyo receiver works fine. Setup is STB -> Xbox One -> Onkyo Receiver -> TV

I tested this plugging headphones directly into TV and it worked. So the issue has to be between the XBox One and the Onkyo Receiver

Try telling the Xbox that it is a different model Onkyo (such as a prior or subsequent year's model in the 7xx line). It is likely that most recent Onkyo models use the same or similar enough IR codesets. Pretty sure that when you are picking your TV, receiver,
etc. model on the One, it is primarily (if not completely) for purposes of configuring the One to transmit the correct IR codes for your particular devices.
