Ongoing Wireless Connection Issues from Xbox 360 to Xbox One

Hi everybody,

Thanks for taking the time to read. I am having ongoing issues maintaining connection with my wireless adapter. I've had these issues for a while but I decided to wait and see if the XBox One fixed them (i.e. if my Xbox 360 wireless adapter was the issue).
However, it's still the same. I drop connection quite frequently and often have to run a really long cord if I want to maintain connection through an entire game of Madden.

My router works without issue for my PC, laptop, iphone, ipad, etc. Everything else works fine except the XBox.

This is my router:

Medialink Wireless-N Broadband Router with Internal Antenna - 2.4GHz - 802.11b/g/n
Anybody have any ideas? I've read about other people having issues and I've read a lot of solutions but simply, I'm hoping someone can get me heading in the most efficient path forward. I really can't spend an entire day trying all the different things
I've read.

Live Connection Error on 1 of 2 consoles

this has been an ongoing issue at my house also 2 xbox 360 consoles running wireless one connects then try other either it wont connect or it will boot other offline then 3rd xbox 360 in house wired no issues at all plus my pc's are always conected and
at full speed one wired one wireless so its not my network this issue has only been present for a few weeks

Was it the official Xbox 360 or Xbox One controller? For the Xbox 360 wireless controller, an adapter is required. For Xbox One, the original Xbox One controller will only work when wired. For the One S controller, you can connect it via bluetooth.

 

Are all these other devices working at that same time that you are playing a game on either console? If so, you should be aware that wireless services are not endless. If you overwork your wireless connection with multiple devices then you will eventually
see a lowered connection rate with other devices. Try turning a few of them off and see if that improves your connection.

The answer to your question is... sometimes, but the Xbox's connection issues are constant. So yes, that could be an issue of having too many devices but I also struggle to maintain connection when I'm sitting on my couch and using nothing but my Xbox.

Also worth noting is that my actual data usage on these devices is minimal. I'm working, sending emails, etc. Too many connections, if that matters, could be a possible issue. But I'm not streaming netflix on my ipad while I use the Xbox, for example.

 

Bumpers... just wanted to mention that I streamed football wirelessly through my CPU all day Sunday with no hiccups.

So the wireless router is working for every single device except my Xbox One or my previous Xbox 360.

My XBox is plugged in directly now, but when I took it out of town and ranit wirlessly... many of the same problems on a different wireless router. Any help available? Is the answer just that wi-fi gaming sucks?
