    Hi all,

    I am experiencing ongoing issues with download of content.

    In the last couple of days I posted re issues adding Batman Telltale series from Games with Gold. I managed to clear this issue but am having further issues.

    I noticed that after the Batman files/packages had been placed in queue - the series had a number oepisodes and season pass - some were showing properly in queue with picture thumbnail of content and description, some were showing generic xbox icon and no
    description. Clicking on the latter to drill into content id brought up content pane covered in content error messages.

    Once downloaded these show correct thumbnail in recently downloaded queue. Similar occurred with the Chldren of Mortia title recently added to game pass which whilst a single download package showed generic xbox symbol thumbnail when viewed in queue and
    errored content pane if drilling into queued item. Again post download shows correctly in recent downloads at top of queue page within games and apps.

    At the time of initiating these downloads I had approx 8 other titles with updates showing as available - my content updates are set to manual trigger as opposed to auto update. These included updates to Forza Horizon 4, Generation Zero, Fortnite 2 to name
    afew. I also added one of the available updates to queue.

    I then went to add a free DLC update from Game Add Ons within Store for WoW Legends. This would not add to queue when pressing 'Get' similar to original issue with Batman Telltale.

    I left the content I had queued (Batman, Children of Mortia, 3v3 update) downloading overnight.

    These have downloaded, however now when going into Games and Apps I have no pending game updates despite knowing there were at least 7 titles with pending updates as of yeterday. Refreshing updates does not fix. Relevant games are showing as installed titles
    so any updates pending should be visible.

    These problems have only commenced since receiving Xbox system update at some point in last week.

    I will continue to look at problem and areas impacted but it would seem at first inspection there is an active issue - I am not only one reporting problems - and in my opinion it seems likely it has been intoduced by system update. Not had these issues before.

    Further update;

    just power cycled xbox again. Immediately prior to power cycle I confirmed issue still present. I went to store- games - add ons - WoW legends dlc free content for ship released recently, classic charleston.

    Hit 'Get', get acknowledgement sound registering 'get' button pressed. Nothing added to queue, content not installing.

    From content screen, press and hold power button, to hard power down console. Disconnected power cable from back of machine. Look up at TV and it is still displaying WoW dlc page!! With no power to console.

    Disconnect ethernet, external hdd. Still displaying WoW dlc page. Never ever seen a powered down xbox outputting to display before.

    Only when I disconnect and reconnect hdmi lead does system finally register no signal. Reconnect ethernet, external hdd, finally power. Long boot from cold as expected. Go to same dlc page, hit 'get' and again no joy, installation is not commencing.

    This smells very strongly of application / firmware issues and not network issues.

    Ok a few more refreshes of updates pane and can now see expected titles needing updates. Still cannot add free DLC for WoW Legends into queue from Store - Games - Add Ons.

    Something very not right.

    I have power cycled a number of times

    I have port forwarding in place, unless last update added new port requirements these should be fine. I am not having multiplayer issues or NAT problems. I will take a look at router config but nothing should have changed from when it last worked fine.

    My Xbox is my home machine.

    I work in IT myself for one of the larger companies and am no stranger to fault finding IT systems. Also xbox live user for 16+ yrs and no stranger to fault finding here either. Experience dictates issues are normally linked to change -last significant
    change was xbox system update. There are multiple reports on the forum over past few days with users having same content issues - the get button is not getting.

    Not trying to be dismissive at all and happy to look at a few things to rule them out but the symptoms are not generic connectivity but what looks like accounts/permissions, xbox function relateed and more specific.

    There have been no changes my side I believe - certainly none configured so unless something has lost settings or reverted to default I should be ok., there have been xbox side and timings match last system update. If MS could at least consider there may
    have been an issue introduced might be prudent given multiple users are having problems.

    In the meanwhile I will do a double check on router, power cycle that too, check no ISP side issues reported etc. I do sometimes get drops on connectivity which sometimes result in some sync issues on account type stuff e.g recognising active memberships
    but a go offline/online from settings or hard powercycle will clear. Don't seem to be working in this case however. Will run through the various steps again however.

    I am not sure why any potential user side issues would result in the report of content packages not displaying corrrectly and being laden with cotent error text - not seen that before in all the years of using what is generally a very reliable MS service.

    Hi all,

    I have tested a workaround for the non-functional 'Get' button issue which seems to work.

    Summary of issue;

    Users who have entitled content through Games with Gold are unable to initiate content download when pressing 'Get' button on content summary pages.

    This issue is being reported by multiple users since the last System update in Jan 2020. Most often in relation to Batman Telltale series. Other content is affected too.

    Potential Workaround

    Instead of using 'Get' button, use 'Add to Cart' button which like any ecommerce site will place content into shopping basket. You can then review cart contents and go to checkout where summary of content is presented and you can confirm order.

    You then need to return to content page and click 'Install' to initiate download.

    So something like a four step process as opposed to the more elegant one step 'Get' button but works at least.

    This has worked for me on free dlc for WoW Legends. Can't test for Batman as I managed to get this working another way which is even more cumbersome than above.

    There almost certainly is an application / API / firmware issue that has been introduced recently, likely as part of Jan 2020 update which is the common major change to have taken place around time fault reports started coming in.

    These are almost certainly not network or user side issues. Such issues would not be gotten around by using the work around described. Nor would users be able to do everything else that requires good connection such as stream video, play online multiplayer
    and browse Internet without issues.

    I would respectfully please request MS look into the reported issues, that are now coming in from a fair few users and are only likely to increase over time if not resolved.

    I don't post these sorts of post lightly. I spend time fault finding before coming to forums, and I have 22 years experience working for Tier 1 ISPs and IT companies on Enterprise level network, security, and appliction systems. Let's just say I am no stranger
    to faults and incident rooms.

    I have over 16 years of MS Live use, and know that most issues can be sorted user side but this really does not appear to be like the typical problems.

    This is not to say I am a big man, just to highlight I am coming from a position of some relevant experience.

    Happy to be proven wrong, IT systems can be complex and sometimes present some very obscure issues you would need to see before believing, but in this instance I do strongly suspect system side issue is resulting in user woes.
