OneGuide won't change channels

Hello, I have my Xbox One properly hooked up to my tv and cable box, but it is still unable to change channels. To change channels I have to use my tv remote. When I try to use OneGuide, the numbers are typed into the top of my screen, but the channel
still doesn't change. My carrier is Charter, and I have a Motorola DCX3501-M cable box. I have also tried to unblock my infrared signal, which didn't help, and I have tried I enter my cable box information manually, which also didn't help. And feedback is
appreciated.

Prophet is it just that OneGuide has the wrong channels, or that the channels won't change?

 

Channel Will Not Change

I'm able to scroll through OneGuide channels, however, when selecting a channel using the 'A' button on the Xbox Controller, it takes me back to the same channel and won't change to the new channel.

I do trust everything is hooked up correctly, could you go through the layout (I am interested.)?

What IR code is the DCX3501-M set to?

I'm not sure how to check the IR code.

I have a vizio tv that is connected to my xbox one and the xbox is also connected to my motorola cable box. No receiver.

 

Settings > TV & OneGuide > Devices > Cable/Sat box should say in ()'s.

 

I manually entered the cable box in the devices menu but I was unable to enter (dcx3501-m), so I had to do it without the ( )'s. It still isn't working

 

Try IR code: C2378, or C1376 by entering this manually. The IR code being used says in the ()'s (don't enter the ()'s). I could see how you did that, it makes sense. To enter that code, go to: Settings > TV & OneGuide > Devices > Cable/Sat box > Motorola

Just to make sure, other voice commands work, right? Like in game, or Xbox Go Home, or Xbox Sign out.

When I manually entered C2378 in the cable/sat box under devices, i pressed next and it gave me one choice which was S2. When I entered C1376, it gave me no results. How would I enter it to make it my IR code?

 

I just tried automatically entering it and when I went to devices, it says Motorola (remote code C2378), but changing channels still does not work when I try to use OneGuide. But all my other commands work for everything, I just can't use the command to
change channels

 

I just found how to change my remote code for the cable box by going to settings>TV and OneGuide>troubleshooting>enter device remote code. I entered both codes, neither worked

 

I am new to writing on forums. I just bought an xbox one today and cannot for the life of me get the channel to change. It won't change with voice command or using the controller. I have read many of your comments and tried just about everything. I have
a dish network VIP722 DVR. I have tried manually entering the sat/cable box name an that didn't work, I tried changing my rf address to 1 and that didn't work, I used 3 different hdmi cables that didn't work, I tried resetting my dish box that didn't work,
I've held the kinect all but inside my dish box and that didn't work either. If anyone has any clue what I need to do to fix my problem I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys!

 

The Xbox One uses IR to control your set top box (STB), not RF or HDMI or anything else. This thread indicates you must set your VIP722 to IR channel 1 (again, not RF):

As long as you have the Xbox One set to the correct IR codeset for your particular STB and have a good, unobstructed path for the IR signal to get from the emitter in the Kinect to the receiver in your VIP722, it should work. (HDMI cable has nothing to do
with it.)

 

I was in a hurry and frustrated when I posted last, def didn't mean to put rf but anyways I fixed it and it works fine now. No one seemed to mention when changing ir address to "1" that you need to hit record multiple times because just once renders your
remote useless.

 

I also have a motorola cable box and have had the same issue; all functions work, the xbox successfully inputs the correct channel but does not switch. Finally found a solution.

Using the remote, hit the menu button twice, this should open the "Setup" menu. Select "Guide Setup" and under "Channel entry method" change the setting to "Auto-Tune"
