OneGuide channels are wrong after Time Warner Cable new lineup

Time Warner Cable just updated their channel lineup in my area, and now my OneGuide channels are out of sync.

I am using Time Warner Cable / Winston-Salem / <edit> zipcode.

An example of a channel that is out of sync is AMC. I wanted to watch The Walking Dead tonight and it took me to the Arabic Channel instead.

The entire channel lineup is wrong.

All listings on oneguide are wrong for time warner. Zip [Mod Removed]. Twc changed channel lineup

 

Voice commands switch to wrong channel number despite correct oneguide listings

I have Time Warner cable which recently changed their channel lineup. I have updated the oneguide with the new listings, and selecting a channel from the oneguide with gestures or a controller, it switches to the correct channel. However, if I say "watch
espn", or any other channel name, it switches to the old channel number. I've tried cleaing my history and refreshing the oneguide data, but this still happens. I really liked using voice commands to change channels. Does anyone have a fix for this?

I am having the same issue jnmarr. I am from Winston-Salem NC as well. I tried calling Xbox support but they said we had to just wait for the server to update? I called Time Warner and they were unaware of any such server so I have no idea what to do now.
It's been since last Thursday so we are going on a week of not being able to use voice commands to change the channel. This is problematic since I no longer have my remote!

Same here. Time Warner Cable in Raleigh just re-worked all their channels and blammo.

I figured it was going to bust OneGuide but I'm hoping not for too long.

@XB1R Hermes what's going on is TWC is consolidating it's channels. No longer do they have standard def and high def versions. They have 1 channel and you get HD if your gear supports it, SD otherwise. They've also grouped content together. From the email
they sent out:

Basically pretty much every channel has moved. For example SyFy HD used to be channel 1315, now it's channel 111.

I think we may be SOL for a while until this gets resolved. Hopefully Microsoft had the foresight to acknowledge that channel lineup changes are inevitable and created a process for doing this already. If not, I guess they will be creating one now.

Seascooch: it is still possible to manually change channels using the channel up/down on the cable box since you no longer have your original remote control. :-/

It will be like the old days before remote controls when you had to run across the room to change the channel!

The timing for this really couldn't be worse. Imagine all the people in Winston Salem who just bought their Xbox Ones for the release of Titanfall; their very first impression of the cable integration feature will be mismatched (or missing) channels! :-/


But I suppose this is just the price we pay for being early adopters. I absolutely love the feature when it works, so hopefully this will be resolved ASAP.

 

jnmarr: I'm with you. It's a great system and works awesomely most of the time, I have a buddy who just bought one and is absolutely convinced that it will not work with Time Warner. I swore to him that it does, and that I've used it without fail up until
last week. In other news, I went and bought another Logitech Harmony Remote to get me by as I have NO idea what happened to my last one. Perhaps the dog or the neighbor stole it :-/

 

Also, I was just thinking; After talking to Microsoft earlier, they said that Time Warner has a server that serves all of the channel lineup/info to 3rd party devices such as Tivo, XB1, etc and that they possibly haven't updated that server with the new
info yet (said it shouldn't take more than a day or 2, however it's been 7). When I called Time Warner, the representative said they have never heard of such a server. I don't know who is right, or whom the proper authority would be to resolve the issue, but
it would be nice to know definitively if such a server really existed so that we could at least petition TWC if the problem is indeed on their end.

 

I'm in Goldsboro (east of Raleigh) and the OneGuide was handling things like a boss until 11 March when TWC changed the line up. Now whenever I want to watch TV Japan, XBone enters the old channel number. OneGuide does not match the new lineup either.
Not a huge pain in the butt since OneGuide is so much better than TWC's guide. But it's useless now since _all_ the channels are incorrect.

 

Since TWC is consolidating SD and HD channels, AMC now shows as channel 35.

There is a OneGuide setting that will automatically hide duplicate SD channels if an HD channel exists. Since I had this enabled, OneGuide did not even show channel 35.

So if a channel is completing missing from OneGuide, it may help to disable that setting until the new OneGuide is released.

After disabling that option, I went through the guide and set as many favorites as I could using the old SD channels (many of which seem to be the same). I will just rely on using favorites until this is sorted out.

 

I have this problem in Raleigh as well. One thing you can do is reset your OneGuide under TV/Oneguide settings. Then uncheck the hide SD duplicate box as jnmarr said. This will at least update your Oneguide to have the correct channels. However, this
does not fix the "Watch Channel" command via kinect. I'm not sure why the Xbox doesn't update the "Watch channel" command when the OneGuide is updated. They really need to fix this soon, seeing that so many people bought new Xbox Ones last week.

Also, MS really needs to update the "Watch" command to include numbers. Then at least we could say "Watch Channel 3" if we wanted to watch the new WRAL channel number.
