OneGuide Canada

Hi, I'm Canadian from Montreal and with the new preview update, I can now control my canadian receiver quite well using the Xbox vocal commands and OneGuide! (I am using a Cisco receiver with Montreal's Videotron) I hope everyone will work their way through
the setup steps, but when it's done, it's great!! Fast forward, play, stop, Watch CBC... I still can't get to customize the channels' names I can't pronounce in less than 5 seconds, though, but still... it's fun and quicker to operate!

 

Good to know that Videotron is a supported set-top-box under the preview update. I have also heard Bell TV, Bell Alliant (sp?) and Rogers are also supported. No word on Shaw, Shaw Direct, or Telus Optik TV. As well what I'm interested in is local broadcast
or media center support.

Do you think the Samsung receiver will work as soon as the update will be available?

If yes, i'm surprised it works wiath an update of the console by Microsoft and not bye the TV provider for the receiver..

Preview persons have been running it, however this was not put into adoption with the April 14th update. So we are nearing 1/2 year of a system with partial features as promised and expected by consumers when pre-ordered in July 2013 and finally released
in November 2013. Xbox One Canadian consumers have however paid full price immediately. I believe that DAY ONE consumers should receive some sort of compensation for this blunder and deceptive advertising. I have been with Xbox gaming since it's inception
and have owned every model since. This is the most disappointing launch I have experienced. I feel embarrassed for getting my friends to pre-order this system as I am their goto tech guy and they trust my opinion. I feel I have mislead them with this purchase.

I have been using the OneGuide on Shaw in Winnipeg. It's working well for the most part. Sometimes I have to say a channel twice to get to the HD version (mainly with TSN). It would be nice to have a "Watch TSN" and "Watch TSN HD" option.

 

It seems like a lot of people are getting this to work now, but I still do not have it. Is still only available to people who have the Preview update?

If it is, is there a way to be added to the Preview so I can receive the update?

I am in Canada and have Rogers as my TV provider, by the way.

 

Canadian with the preview update here. My bell fibreop is working with the one guide now. However many of the stations are incorrect. Very annoying! It may be because this system is set up out sets somewhere and then brought to our city forum them.
I don't know. Things like Spike HD not working correctly and stuff.

 

I read somewhere they changed the postal code for another one. I dont know where you live but if its near Montreal, look for the 1 Place Marie adress and try with this one. It's working for some people..

Two way, Microsoft send random invite (look sometime your Xbox Mailbox on your console) or you have to be invited by someone who have already have the beta. But seem to be hard to got people accepting.. And btw after you got the invite, MS have to approve
so its not sure you get accepted after the invite..
