One X overheating

Good evening,

I have an overheating problem on my One X, it ventilates a lot even in "small" games like rocket league. The picture cuts out and returns or the console cuts out completely.

I tried with a 2nd One X, same problem ... I did not wait for the overheating but the fans start from the rocket league menu. I don't even dare to try on warzone ...

The Xbox One X will shut off should there be overheating, yes.

Make sure that you place your Xbox Series X|S console on a stable surface that is well-ventilated, relatively cool, and away from direct heat sources. Don't put other objects on, under, or right next to the console.
Proper ventilation is important to prevent overheating. Be sure that your console has a minimum of 4-6 inches of clearance on all sides.
Do not place your console inside an enclosed cabinet. Make sure that none of the console’s vents are blocked.

It s not just my One X but 2 with same problem, all requirements and positioning was good.

it might have been that the one x overheated and shut itself down so it wouldn't get damaged

In my experience the notification about overheating occurs after you turn the console back on after letting it cool down, about an hour. I've never seen it before it turns off, and only had overheating on a Xbox One X. The side tiny vents were blocked with dust which required vacuuming out every other month.

Haven't had overheating on my Xbox Series X.

Elden Ring is resource intensive. Could you hear Series X fan working overtime while you were playing?

If so I would send the console back to get repaired and / or replace it.
