One X not outputting sound through TV

After getting home today, I was able to play my One X for a little before sound just stopped coming through my TV.

I tried every trick in the book, browsing the internet and YouTube, to no avail. I hard reset countless times. I plugged the HDMI into every port on my TV and nothing. I used a different HDMI cable and nothing…I know it’s not the HDMI cable I already had as I switched it with the one I use for my 360 and it worked perfectly, aka had sound and picture, nor is it the TV, as I get sound on everything else, just not the X1X.

The HDMI port had no damage nor was it that dusty, but I cleaned it anyways without results. I even factory reset both my TV and console as a last resort and still nothing…leading me to believe it’s an issue with the console, software, or of the like…

Thankfully I can still use my headset, but it’s a big inconvenience when I want to watch Netflix, YouTube, or whatever. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I am not part of the Insider Program, so rule that out

Please try the following! Press the Bind and Eject buttons, and hold those buttons to keep them pressed. Then, with the Bind and Eject buttons held, press the Xbox button.

Let go the Bind and Eject buttons after the second power-up tone. Thereafter, the Xbox One should start up at the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

Then please select Reset and remove everything!

Are trying to get your xbox one sound on your tv? Or your tv sound on the xbox one? If it's tv sound on xbox one through the optical port that does not work as the xbox one is an output only.

If you are trying to get xbox one sound on your tv. When you go to sound settings what do you have selected for optical output? Try "stereo uncompressed" sound if you have not tried this alread. Your receiver might not be able to handle the other options.

I'm talking about plugging in any stereo headset (like earplugs) to listen to all game audio instead of outputting it through your TV. The Wii U does this with their GamePad (you can play in off TV mode and listen to the audio). The sound quality is awesome.
I've heard the PS4 will let you plug in a stereo headset and output all game audio (sounds, music) to the headset in 2.1 sound. Will the Xbox One allow the same thing?

In the Astro 50 what is transporting the mic input, is it the usb?

If your Xbox One is connected to the TV by HDMI it is that cable that carries the sound. The red and white connectors at the rear of the TV may be inputs rather than outputs hence no sound.

Is there another pair of red & white terminals at the rear of the TV?

Check the TV manual for Red and White outputs alternatively get an adapter for the headphone socket if your TV has one.
