One X Hardwired Internet/Ethernet Connectivity Issues

I recently replaced my original Xbox One with a new Xbox One X. As I did with the last console, I used an ethernet cord to hardwire the new console into the router. Initially, everything worked fine. Eventually, though, the console failed to connect to the
internet unless it had been hard reset before it was turned on.

Assuming that this was an issue with the console itself, I contacted Amazon and received a replacement soon after. The replacement is now doing the same thing. I assume this must be an issue with the software or router settings, as I cannot imagine that
this problem would happen on two different consoles. I have tried changing ethernet cords, using a different router port, and testing other devices (like a PS4 and PC) on the port.

Is there a fix for this? The console still connects to Xbox Live wirelessly, but my wireless connection is spotty, and the console is two feet from the router for a reason. I find it extremely frustrating that I "upgraded" to a new, $500 console only to
have more problems with it than I did with my three-year-old original Xbox One. I know I'm not the only one to have this issue, either, as I stumbled upon

this Reddit poster with the same problem
    . Any help is appreciated.

    :)

    Booted from the BO3 server??

Being hardwired would not necessarily keep you from losing connectivity to the server. Hardwired just means you have a better more reliable connection to the internet. It doesn't improve the connectivity from the net to your internal network.

Does anyone else with an Xbox One X have Wi-Fi issues?

Great, but surely a $500 brand new console shouldn't have issues with a router at like 20 feet when an 8 year old PS3 doesn't.

If you don't want wires just buy a Powerline adapter. It comes in sets of 2, you plug one into the wall by the Xbox, you plug the other into the wall by the router, and it has an Ethernet connection on both ends so it basically sends the signal through the wall.

Hey Mattooine! Do you ever get an error message or code when trying to connect via ethernet? Give these

    steps
a shot and let us know how it goes!

Hi, thank you for the reply. Generally the console won't let me sign in and I get error message 0x87DD000F. When I try to troubleshoot from there I either get "DNS isn't resolving Xbox server names," Teredo, or UPnP. I have gone into my router settings and
fixed UPnP, but that didn't fix the problem.

Hey Mattooine! Have you attempted the troubleshooter that was linked? If so, how did it go? Additionally, does the wired connection work after a power cycle of the console? Post back and let us know!

The wired connection works after a power cycle of the console. Resetting the router, as the troubleshooter says, is not necessary to temporarily fix the problem.

Hey Mattooine! You may want to try setting your console up with a static IP to see if the issue is caused by a stale connection. Give that a shot and let us know how it goes!

Hi, I tried setting my console up with a static IP today and it's having the same issue. The internet works fine after a hard reset, but then won't let me sign in or connect on subsequent boot-ups.

Hey Mattooine! I would suggest trying a
    factory reset
of the console to see if that can help resolve these issues. We suggest starting with the "Keep my Games & Apps" option first before trying a full factory reset. Give that a shot and let us know how it goes!

Hi, I tried the factory reset, first keeping games and apps, and then wiping the entire machine, and neither solution worked.

Hey Mattooine! If you're still having issues after a full factory reset, the issue may be with your ISP or the console will need to be repaired. I would suggest reaching out to your ISP to see if there is anything they can do to
assist, otherwise you can start a repair
    here
    or by contacting
    support
    . Thanks!
