One X Hanging on startup

I'm having an issue on startup with a new One X. On starting the console it signals the TV to come on but the screen is blank and it just seems to hang there indefinitely. I'm assuming that's the case as I've left it for about 20 minutes and nothing happens,
no sound, nothing.

If I hard reset the machine, it starts up as normal. It was fine for the first two days, and it doesn't do it with every boot but it has been most. Power saving is set to on, in case it's relevant.

If anyone has any thoughts or ideas I'd very much appreciate hearing them .

I had a similar experience with mine a few months ago. Xbox seemed to be powering on but the screen flickered and then nothing. Occasionally it would work for a short time, then go black. After trying what i thought was everything, it turned out to be
a faulty HDMI cable of all things, so just another thing to check if you have a spare HDMI cable lying around

what you can try is check that everything is plugged correctly, unplug everything and plug back

then if it persiste try formatting the Xbox (don't worry you will not loose you game save)

if the issue is not resolve and if your Xbox is sill under warranty you can request a service repair

I've narrowed it down to turning on the controller before the console has started. It automatically tries to sign in when the controller connects, so I'm assuming that's the issue. If I don't turn the controller on until the console has started, it will
start without issue every time.

this might not be connected, but if I turn on my TV first then the Xbox I don't get a picture but if I turn on the Xbox then the TV I always get the Xbox start-up screen and everything is good.

it could be that having the TV turn on with the Xbox is causing the TV to start momentarily before the Xbox and it isn't finding the signal.

next time it happens, try cycling through the inputs on your TV so that it rechecks the HDMI input for the Xbox. if it is similar to what happens with my TV then it should show your Xbox screen when you get back to that input source.
