One x game DVR not recording native 4K

You might review the following info...could be the game that is the limiting factor or your settings...

Clip resolution is fixed at 4K HDR for certain games on Xbox One X.

To allow longer clips for the game you’re playing now, or to record at lower resolution, turn off HDR10. Press the
Xbox button  to open the guide, then go to
Profile & system > Settings > General >
TV & display options > Video modes.

Thank you, i thought as much i was wondering if something like that was the case, i hope they figure it out before the new console comes out, i enjoy recording many glitches i seem to find in games, they’re very funny

The Dashboard Preview team is aware of problem(s) with Game DVR 4K recordings not working properly and have implemented the 1080P recording as a workaround so that one at least gets a clip instead of nothing or an unusable 2 second clip. We'll have to
wait and see if they continue to investigate and resolve the issue with 4K clips in future.

Does the Xbox detect the resolution?

Your Xbox One console should automatically detect the display resolution on your TV. However, on rare occasions, it might not. If this happens, follow these steps:

1. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, and then select
   Profile & system > Settings.
2. Under Display & sound, select Video output.
   
3. Select TV resolution, and then choose either 720p,
   1080p, or 4K UHD, whichever is best for your TV. If you don't see the resolution for your TV, set
   TV connection to Auto detect.

Are you running the cable directly to the TV or are you running through an Audio/Video Receiver or HDMI splitter or recording device like an Elgato?
