One X flawed disc drive

Just about done with these xbox one X’s

in 13 months im on my 5th xbox one X , and all have been returned to the retailer John Lewis , every fault has been identical i get the new xbox and download the handful of games i do have on disc and everything fine for about 2/4 weeks then out of the blue
my xbox wont even display the icon with the game cover of the disc in the drive with the disc icon that no longer exists no error codes of msgs saying unreadable disc just makes a loading disc noise then stops dead and nothing if i click on the game icon in
pins it just says if i own this game please insert ‍♂️I call support the same the same thing read off a script card from eastern europeans with an IQ of -7 ‍♂️‍♂️ Pull plug out for 20 sec . CHECK , power back on go settings go to disc go bluray and clear
persistant storage . CHECK , go and chamge power mode to instant on , CHECK , now hard reset and everything will be tip top this has worked but after maybe a less as 1/2 hrs ill try to play game on disc back to square 1 now i can understand 1 or 2 consoles
being faulty but 5 on the spin is telling me that the disc drive is fundermentally flawed in the slim and one x i had a xbox from launch i had 3 years not 1 problem with discs , oh so wish i kept the original because microSOFT are a software company and have
no buisness building a console they have no know how this consile should of been outsourced to a company with know how , been an xbox fan since the original but im pretty sure im gonna be a station user by next week

The future is all digital so these issues will be solved once and for all. In the end you have the right to make a choice so good luck in all your future endeavors.

So as an xbox little helper can you answer this , why are microsoft sending out whole batches of 100,s of xbox one x with faults ? Are they not tested for faults before being sent out to the retailer ?

I've just returned mine as had loads of crashing and freezing. Hopefully I'll get a replacement that works.

Also got a original Xbox One and that works perfectly.

Its a shame because the X should be the flagship console.

That is terribly unfortunate, I get the frustration. Like
AridLizard said it occurs to me the problem is with the retailer, that or some odd occurrence happening in the spot you house the console that I can't imagine. I did read though that you said it was a span of 13 months you bought them over.

Is it beyond reason they are sourcing a fake knockoff distributor or something or their wholesaler is doing something sketchy with swapping parts or something??? It seems beyond reason but so does having identical problems with so many consoles.

I would deal with Microsoft directly and stop using that retailer. You've definitely gone well out of your way at this point. I wil add I have not had or known others with these said problems. I'm sure they exist, it's just not been my experience.

that sounds as if the retailer got a bad batch.

you might have better luck getting it replaced through the Xbox warranty.

sign in to your account at https://account.microsoft.com/devices/ to make sure the Xbox is registered and then click on
Show Details for the Xbox that is having issues and then select
Start Order in the Box for Start a Repair Online and follow the onscreen instructions.

note; when shipping an Xbox for repair/replacement you only send the console. do not send the controllers or leads/cables
