One Turns Off During Mandatory Updating

Hello support! Just purchased a used Xbox One. The seller had it updating when I walked in the door but I did not have time to let it finish (I live far from him so I had to grab n go). He pulled the plug and turned it back on to show me it all worked (and
it all worked perfectly). So I factory reset it in front of him to ensure him his info was removed and then I took it home, got it set up, and then continued to update. Somewhere around 30-40% it shuts off and does not turn back on. When you turn it back on,
you have two options:

>Update

>Turn Off Xbox One

I thought maybe it was the console shutting off automatically, but the console shouldn't come that way from factory. I even updated it overnight and set an alarm every 45 minutes to turn the controller on and press a button to make sure it didn't time out,
but after 3-4 forty-five minute sessions, I woke up to it being off again. I have looked and looked but it seems there is just no solution other than return, but I don't have that option, right?

Xbox stuck on Green startup screen

I was updating my Xbox a few nights ago, when it got stuck during installation at around 94% I think. I was forced to turn it off and return later to try again, but now whenever I turn it on it stays on the green startup screen, the one with the Xboxone
name and logo with three flashing dots below. I would really appreciate any help people can offer to resolve this problem.

 

Usually the box does not shut down while downloading the update files. Even if you do not move the controller. So is the box still in the download process or already installing the files?

Have you tried plugging the power supply directly to a wall outlet? Maybe it's some power failure.

 

I'm not entirely sure whether it is downloading or installing... The update is 1969MB it says if I remember correctly. All I know is that 3 times it has shut down while "updating".

The box is plugged directly into a wall outlet which has never done weird things before.. I've used it to charge my electronics and run the fan all night long. I'm also not sure what takes it so long to update. It takes about an hour to get to 20% and then
another 15 minutes just to hit 27%.

 

The update went through. The only difference was I reset my router... That and I was worshiping Jesus on my guitar while practicing for tonight's service. I bet the latter did the trick ;-)
