One Time Gamertag Change For Others!

Hello,

I have been on Xbox Live since it initially opened up (11 year tenure), and I have since decided I'd like to change my gamertag to something new since my taste has also changed in over a decade! I have never once changed my gamertag, so I feel if new customers
are able to receive one new gamertag change, we (as long time supporters and customers) should be able to avoid the $10 fee to change it once as well! Hopefully, we can be helped with this, as it's a pretty small favor to ask after years of subscriptions!

Need your opinion about a couple of gamer profiles

It cost 800 Microsoft Points to change a gamertag, $10. Change your gamertag of the one you like to something else, and then change the other one to the gamertag you like. $20 investment and your playing on the gamertag you want to play on, and you have the achievements to show off your progression of games.

Smwutches is correct. The only free Gamertag change that you get is when you first made your account and are given a random name.

Since your current gamertag is one that you chose then you have already used your one free gamertag change. Any others would need to be paid for.

At one time everyone had a free change however you also used to be able to pick your starting Gamertag. However it has since changed so that the sytem gives you an auto genrated tag when you create the account. You then have 30 days to use a free name change
or you will have to pay.

I can completely understand you wanting to change your gamertag for free but sadly Xbox isn't going to grant you that wish. Changing your gamertag is already cheap as it is and very much worth itif you can come up with a sweet gamertag!

There's just 3 options on a gamertag change, the free first change, paid change, enforcement change, any other change means you are using a different email that the one used the first time

Usually when a gamertag gets replaced with a generated one, it usually means that your gamertag has been reported by other users too many times and was forced changed.

Some time ago, Microsoft changed it so multiple people can have the same gamertag...each separate one is identified by the numbers after the name. So, 2 people can have the gamertag "username" for example...one would be, say, "username4589" and the other "username3629". In the past it used to be only one gamertag instance at a time

Unfortunately, far as I know, there is no way to reverse it as you only get one free gamertag name change
