    ONE takes for ever to startup


    Hello,

    I bought my xbox one about three month after the official release. I was happy with it... until now.

    Now my ONE starts up very very slow (~10/20 min), which is not normal and not acceptable for a next gen console.

    I guess the problem came with the last update!

    What can I do? It's really annoying!

    Now it doesn't even startup. Please suggest a solution. I don't want to run the diagnostic tool!

    Unfortunately, it sounds like this may need to be serviced. The fact that it was going along just fine, and then got worse and suddenly stopped working, seems to me like the console itself failed. I think the Update may just be a coincidence, rather than
    actually causing the issue.

    Let me ask, have you done a hard-reset of the console (powering FULLY down, not just in instant-on mode, by holding the power button for 8 seconds, then waiting for the light on the PSU to turn solid orange, then powering back up.) 9 times out of 10, when
    the console is acting oddly, a hard reset is a good fix. Since it isn't starting up at all, is the PSU light orange or white? If it's white, do the steps listed above and try the hard shut down.

    If it's orange, then that would already be in energy saver mode, so I would suggest unplugging for probably 5 minutes, then plugging back in and seeing if the console is responsive.

    If not, unfortunately, the only step left is going to be to call support at 1-800-4MY-XBOX (if you're in North America) to report this issue and send it in for repairs. Sorry I couldn't give you more encouraging information!
