Sorry to play devils advopcate here but i also have nat issues when using the one. Nothing that stops me playing but its never open whereas it is on the 'other console'

People also need to remember were not all networking gurus

I was having issues where my Nat would be open then it would go to moderate or even strict for no reason at all. IT would even happen while just sitting there looking at it. But I replaced my router not to long ago and havnt had any dramas since, so I just
figured it was on my end.

Peddler, apologies for the language... and I've tried all the steps in the support section, having spent most of the day on the phone to my ISP provider, I will be trying a final router tomorrow to see if this can solve the issue.

DuFFuL, sorry, didn't see your post! ... As mentioned above, I'm now waiting on my fourth router, and as has been pointed out, the NAT is something to do with my end (ISP, modem, router, whatever) so I will eventually get it right. Just frustrating having
to go through all this stuff time and again when I just want to get online with friends!

As someone else in the thread said, sometimes it's best to use the router supplied by your ISP.

I have had a couple different ISPs and have never had to worry about NAT at all. I just let the experts set it up for me, then plug in my devices.

A 360, a One, 2 tablets, a laptop, 2 smart TVs and 2 android phones... Soon our toasters are going to be on the network so they can send us a notification when our breakfast is ready, lol!

if you log into your router and check the WAN IP address (the IP your router is getting from your ISP) and if it starts with 10.x.x.x, 172.x.x.x or 192.x.x.x then it is pretty much a clear sign that your ISP is doing NAT. also when you know what IP your
ISP is handing to your router, you can also get on your computer go to whatismyip.com or ipchicken.com and see if they are the same, if they are the same then you do have a public IP address and your ISP is not doing NAT, if they are different then they are.

OK guys, issue resolved!!! finally!!

Had a Virgin engineer here most of the day trying this, that and the next but nothing was working. He tried a new Superhub2 but that didn't work... We finally got a solution by wiring both X1's to the Netgear N600 with the Superhub2 in modem mode. Was fun
routing the cable through the whole house for the second box!!

NYC, I'm blaming it on the boogie!

Skridger, I'm running the Superhub2 which is an all in one, best results for me was to use a secondary router... now running (or will be by xmas) 2 X1's (wired), 2 360's (wireless), a PS3 (wireless), 2 smart TV's (1 wired, 1 wireless) 3 laptops (wireless),
a PC (wired) and tablet and phones (wireless)... I like the idea of the toaster though, where can I get one????

Zero, the engineer tried loads of things, I've no idea what he was talking about but there was talk of IP addresses, gateways, subnets, fishing nets and spaceships! Just seems the X1's don't like the wireless or the wireless doesn't like them which I find
strange due to the 360's both connecting without issue.

so, in summing up, thanks to those who offered help and guidance, and to those with other comments, learn some tolerance to those not as clued up ... Merry Xmas folks

I must apologise for my smart *** comment at the beginning of the thread as well. It stems from the fact that instead of coming in here and politely asking the forum goers for some help or advice, you came in like a freight train on a mission to kill. We
all know things can get frustrating at times but try to learn a little restraint when it comes to the ranting. There are a lot of helpful people in these forums but if you start of by going of the rails, most of us are just going to snap back.

This is not just aimed at you but anyone who has problems. Cursing at Microsoft or threatening to move to Sony or sell the Xbox one isn't going to sort anything out. Start off aggresive and all you receive most of the time is aggression in return.

I assure you the problem is on your end, I have two ones set up at my house and i can have them both online playing together at the same time while only paying for the digital game once both consoles can access it and play together
