One S will not stay in Instant On power mode

No matter what I do, in the settings for power, when I shut down my 1 TB Xbox One S in "instant On' Mode, it powers down completely if I don't come back to it in a few minutes. I have left that power off after 1 hour, 6 hour, and never options, same result.
WTF. The xbox one I traded in didn't have this problem . Need this resolved soon, or I dump it.

Xbox not staying in standby mode?

I've had this issue since I bought my xbox one two weeks ago. Im not sure if its a hardware issue.

What happens is, if i leave my game running and turn the xbox off it will stay in instant on mode for as long as i leave it. That is, the light is white on the power brick and it boots right to the home screen.

If i close my game/app before turning it off the xbox will not stay in instant on mode and will turn completely off. That is, orange light on the power brick and boots from the green xbox screen.

Yes, my console is plugged into the wall and is in instant on mode.

Please help.

Is your Xbox in power saving mode or instant on?

Also does the console come on the screen at all or stay no signal?

 

I'm having he same issue as well. Mine also won't auto download system or game updates. Glad to see I'm not the only one. I have checked my settings numerous times and all are set correctly

 

This is bull ***. Is there a *** number I can call or do I just take this piece of *** back to Gamestop. Only 5 days old.

Sorry to hear about the instant on issue. Try to do a
Factory Reset on your console and let us know if that helps out!

 

OK Factory reset (keep games and apps), and a manual update via USB solved the issue. Think the migration from XBOX ONE to ONE S was the issue. So far so good.

Never mind. It's the same, worked for a day I thought, but not at all. This is garbage.

 

Sorry to hear the issue popped back up! How is your Xbox One connected to power? If it's connected to a surge protector, please ensure your console is powered off try a direct connection to the wall outlet and then set the Xbox One S back up to 'Instant
On'.

Hey! I am having the same problem. It sucks. So after the factory reset when prompted for an update did you say no? And then manually update with USB? Not sure what I have to do to get this stupid thing to work. Reset only transiently worked for me as well.

 

I figured it out. It's called I swapped it out for a new unit at Gamestop, only had it 2 weeks. Low and behold, this one performs like it should.

So, solution is. Get a new one.
