    One S graphics suddenly drop and system will only stay on for 10 seconds


    As I was playing BFV Firestorm last Thursday, suddenly when I landed the graphics were all potato and the buildings wouldn’t render.
    Picked up weapons and it wouldn’t let me load them and my character movement was jittery and laggy.
    This had never happened with any game before, so I exited the game and rebooted.
    From that point on, the One S won’t stay on more than 10 seconds and it doesn’t display anything on the TV.
    I’ve tried hard reset and factory reset instructions with no success.
    Unplugged the power cord from the system and left it that way overnight and tried a different outlet with the same result.
    Never had any trouble with my 360 and it still works actually so I’m really surprised the One S failed so soon.
    $139 doesn’t seem reasonable for repair when it’s only barely out of warranty and it’s a nearly $300 system.
    I expected it to at least last until the new generation systems come out. Since I can't afford the latest each time, I like to keep my consoles for 2 generations. Hence why I didn't buy a the Xbox One and waited for the One S. I won't
    buy a One X but probably will get whatever the next generation will be. What should I do to get help with this? I've tried the live chat option, but all they do is repeat the hard reset and factory reset instructions and tell me to pay full price to have
    it repaired.

    Oh yeah, zmaster, I always make sure there's airflow. I keep it in a fully open area.

    Sometimes visual and physical issues are due to lack of airflow. Please ensure your console is not trapped in an entertainment unit.

    Diego, I was thinking of an external also. I've only had a chance to download one game. I'll test more tonight.

    Hi Sting79,

    Are any of your other games experiencing lagging issues at any point? This could be a sign of a failing hard drive if you can confirm that your internet connection is solid and has good numbers. I recommend going into your Network settings and running a
    Detailed network statistics test just to make sure your numbers meet all of the recommend requirements.

    You can always invest in an external HD and copy your games there and see if that makes a difference.

    Last night I tried downloading and installing Forza Horizon 4 and that went fine. But it was extremely laggy when I tried to navigate any menus. All my games are digital, so I have to use the HDD. Can't remember the last time I bought a game on disc.
