One S Controller audio

Purchased a Fortnite bundle for Christmas. Cannot hear game audio from headset. The controller has the 3.5mm plug. I can hear and be heard in party chat, but cannot hear game audio through the headset. When I go into audio settings, the "chat mixer" option
is not available. tried different headsets(all 3rd party) that work on my other one S. All the security settings are set to open. Frustrated......

Every controller since my first (1 with audio jack, one XBO S, one XBO X) hasn't worked, so it's not the controllers themselves.

they are the same as the standard xbox one s controllers, so with pc you can use via bluetooth(audio through headphone jack not supported)

or wired(supports audio via headphone jack)

Forgot to add- if the 510's sound as good, I always have the option of leaving the base connected to my 360's audio out, then just swapping the 510's between controllers (and accepting only stereo from the One).

Thanks for the response.

1) The firmware is up to date

2) I've checked the settings in "display and sound", and everything is exactly as it shows on my other console.

3) when pushing the home button and scrolling down "audio", this is where there is no "Chat mixer" option. Just volume and a switch to turn the mic off. I'll double check these when I get home. Any other ideas

I am having the same issue. I have updated both of my controllers. I have tried 3 different headsets and i can't hear ANYTHING in them. I all 3 headsets with my ipad and they work. help!
