One-off download card fail - Borderlands 2

Hello to any and all Xbox Xperts!

I recently bought a 360 for my son which came with Tomb Raider and Borderlands 2 one-off download cards.

Tomb Raider has downloaded fine but I had to cancel the Borderlands 2 download almost right after it began, and I got the message that I can continue later etc. When I came back to continue the download it was not appearing in the Current Downloads. I gathered
I needed to start over so I re-entered the 25 digit code only to be told the code had already been used.

I searched through the Xbox site for help, followed some settings advice and eventually found reference to the incomplete download somewhere in the console settings menu. It showed Borderlands 2 with the yellow ! error icon but no message code or continuation/correction
message.

Is there anything I can do or is it just bad luck? It appears there's no leeway with these one-off download cards?

Yeah once the code is used you cannot re-enter it but you should "own" the game on that console now. Its a matter of finding how to download the game. Its a long shot but you could try the "games on demand" section and see if it lets you do the download
for free.

Hey there! Even though the game didn't download fully, it should still appear in your Download History. Sign into the account you used to redeem the code, and then navigate to Settings > Account > Download History. Since it was a recent purchase, the game
should be toward the top of the list. Select it and then select "Download Again."

If the download gives you trouble, then see if there is an incomplete/damaged game file. Settings > System > Storage > All Devices > Games and Apps > Borderlands 2. Within that folder, look for a file marked with a yellow ( ! ) and delete it, and then try
the download again.

Enjoy the game. It is one of my favorites.

Same result. Borderlands fails to get to 1%, BioShock hits 7%, hangs, goes to 0%, back to 7% and then quits.

Additional info:

Yesterday I had my purchases refunded, but they still appear with the option "Download Again". The problems I'm having now are the exact same as before the refund. When they looked at my account, I had two copies of Borderlands instead of one of BioShock
and one of Borderlands. However, I don't see that as being the problem since I purchased Borderlands first and it failed to download a few times before I purchased BioShock.

So now we're stuck at a connectivity issue (not sure why I'd be able to download demos if this was the problem) or a problem with the files on the Marketplace end (unlikely that both would be hooped).

Any ideas?

maybe Game Stop is doing the used copy cheaper in the store, but they certainly haven't changed it on their website.
