Reasons to buy an Xbox One

I'm on the fence, do I buy xbox one or PS4?

Sony seem to have many more software teams than Microsoft.

Also take a game like Metal Gear V. 720p on PS3, xbox 360 &xbox one. 1080p on PS4. 1080p has more than double the pixels of 720p. I saw some comparisons on Konamis site, the difference is night and day. And I hear this is on many games.

So I guess PS4 is the more "future proof" of the 2.

sketchy it uses ONE set of hardware it wouldn't even matter. The consoles are still using dated technology that will easily be surpassed next year by newer PC tech. I think Nvidia said it best that Consoles are a "joke".

Microsoft did something very similar with the original xbox - it didn't use an APU did it?

Please review that for me and I know it's wiki but it's speaking of a custom intel core + discrete NVidia chip. The reason they went with an AMD APU was for price and price alone. Nvidia said they went to both consoles makers with a solution but it wasn't
cost effective and then they just laughed it off and said well just be a joke then.

Not to mention the Steam Box is banking on that fact. Giving a uniform Linux solution allowing you to configure your console any way you see fit.

AMD was the only one offering APU's this time. Ms didnt really have a choice, Nvidia doesnt want to do consoles anymore and intel wants more $$$

Unless we wanted to pay for 800 doallrs for consoles.... naw....

We came off a too long of gen. Sure the timing wasnt perfect but at the end of the day we got worthy consoles that can play more complex games.

 

We wont have a xbox 360/PS3 gen again (for awile). Both consoles were actually ahead of the time machines.

This is more like the PS1/n64 gen. When pcs beat both out in all aspects not even 6 months down the road

 

There was a lot of panic during the early xbox 360/PS3 days, 720p native were render targets for many games but all fell short for quite awile.

Now we get some 720p, some 1080p some bwtween and sum sub hd games on 360/ps3 and those systems turned out okay.

Xb1 and PS4 will be fine. People are still intrested in the console expeince. Its just PC now has a good apeal in the market nore than it ever has.

 

I wonder what Resolution witcher 3 is on? Have you guys watched the XB1 promo? Breathtaking isn't enough to describe what I'm seeing.

OP, too many good games on the horizon mate, maybe give it a chance to settle

That last post I agree with. The 360 and ps3 lasted for a very long time they were well ahead of their time.

 

RAW CELL PS3 gflops performance (Throetical peaks) out does the current gen CPUs.

But keep in mind the new gen cpus have many many many many many many many diffrent more robust effeicncies in thier hardware solutions.

Keep in mine consoles made in the 90s like the geneis had 1970 CPU's.

The PS3's architecture was foreign to say the least to devs.

The X1 and the PS4 are both architectures that aren't....odd. So the fact that both consoles are not reaching potetial of what PCs have been doing for years now....is a little concerning.
