one microsoft account with my gamer tag, another account for my windows 8.1. link them?

As you can see, I have two different microsoft acounts and one has my xbox gamer tag and the other has my desktops windows 8.1

I would like to link the microsoft accounts together some how. I tried using alias's via accounts.live.com but that doesnt work given that both emails are already microsoft accounts.

I couldnt get in contact with a real person at microsoft to help me and the way they have their support sites set up i have no clue where i should actually be asking this. Microsoft can be a real pain in the *** some times.

Whether your assumption is right or wrong, I do not know. But in my case I have problems with Microsoft Jackpot on 2 computers. One running on Windows 10 and one running on Windows 8.1 Pro. The one on Windows 8.1 was first also upgraded to Windows 10, but
I was unhappy with it and returned this computer to Windows 8.1. The main reason was that Acer did not support Windows 10 for the Acer Iconia W 700 P.

In my case the regio for both computers is the same, the same as for my Microsoft account.

Also, i cant delete the gamer tag that is on THIS email adress if that makes a difference. Ideally id just delete this xbox live gamer tag and then change the email from my real account to this email. but I also cant find a way to delete a gamer tag/xbox
live account

 

ALSO if i were to find a way to delete this whole microsoft account id lose the ability to redownload my windows 8.1 if for some reason my dekstop did *** the bed because how would i log into an account that has been delete to access my past purchases?

I can definitely understand your frustration.

Here's some tips:

You can close the Microsoft account by going to account.live.com, also changing the primary alias isn't going to work because the email that is used for your windows laptop is already tied to an existing Microsoft account. closing the Microsoft account won't
free up that email to be used for another account's primary alias. It will just be recycled.

The best option that I can think of for you is to actually use the Microsoft account that is tied to your windows laptop as your Xbox profile. Take the email and login for the Microsoft account that you used for your laptop, and go to your Xbox One (I assume
that's what you have since your in the Xbox One forums) and "add new". This should download a profile with a generated gamertag ( random adjective, noun, and some numbers. You get 1 free change) and there you go, a new Xbox profile that is using the same
Microsoft account as your laptop. I also assume that "TheLandNarwhal" is the Xbox profile you don't want to use, you can remove this profile by going to settings (right hand side there will be an option to remove profile) or you can use this as a secondary
profile that a friend or family member can use.

If that option doesn't work for you, than you can try to connect your laptop to a different Microsoft account by going to settings, control panel, and look over the user section.

Worst case scenario, you could back up any important files you have and restore your laptop to its factory settings and connect the Microsoft account you want to use.
