One Guide Setup - with Virgin media Tivo

Hi Guys, finally got around to setting up One Guide, there is one small thing that annoys me when I power down the XBOX I dont want it to put the Tivo in sleep mode as it takes too long to come out of sleep and the XBOX alway states that the Signal is lost.

Anyone know a way to stop it going into sleep?

That's weird - why can't you access the planner from the One Guide? I've seen loads of people comment that the One Guide works quite well with the Virgin Media TiVo guide - are you saying that it just doesn't work with Sky or that it doesn't work at all...??

 

Surround sound on Virgin Media Tivi Box not working through HDMI passthrough

Hi Guys,

I have just replaced my sky box with a Virgin Media Tivo Box

With Sky I had full surround sound through HDMI passthrough, but with this box i only get 2.0

Setup is Tivo-> Xbox One ->optical out to LG Surround Sound

Anyone else had similar? Is there a magic setting to set!

 

The Oneguide app, if you have all your devices set to it, just tries a generic shut down or start up when you shut down or start up the Xbox. Unfortunately it's really an all or nothing system. It can't differentiate the difference between just a standard
shut off vs sleep mode. So the only real fix here, at least for now, would be to not use the app.

A great place to make this bug known would be the feedback/wishlist forums and let them know there is a bug that needs a fix and let the development team know they need to address it. Head over here and post up:

There is actually a setting you can now change for this specifically that came in the June update.

Unfortunately I do not have a One to hand as I type this, so you're going to need to do some hunting for yourself to find it, but I can suggest where it might be and what you're looking for.

In Settings, it could be under Power & Startup (unlikely) or TV & OneGuide.

The setting is one that tells your console what signal to send your devices when you power it on or off. The settings are 'toggle' (which will turn the TV or set-top box on if it's off or off if it's on, regardless of whether you're turning the One on or
off) or to do nothing.

This does mean that you cannot use the One to turn the TiVo on, but at least the One will not be shutting it off.

I guess we both learned something new then. I do wish it still gave you the option to either just turn it off or put into sleep mode, but at least you can turn that particular aspect off so you don't lose functionality.
