    One Flicker & External HDD Being Lost


    Couple of things I've noticed the last few days that have annoyed me using both the official OS, and the beta from Xbox Insider.

    First and foremost is the random loss of the Xbox One X being able to see my External HDD. Symptoms are if the system is turned off (Even in Instant-On) for extended periods of times it fails to see the external hdd is attached, and sometimes when first
    starting a game the game will play for two to three minutes, exit to desktop and it doesn't recognize the hdd. The only solution so far is a power cycle, or switch the usb ports on the one x. Then it, once gain, recognizes my external hdd.

    The second issue is when playing a game within the first five minutes the screen will flicker ONE time and the audio levels are cut in half. This is repeatable across several games (Forza 7 is a noticeable title for this), and always occurs after a power
    cycle.

    Also, experiencing random freezing in the home screen for periods of 5 - 20 seconds. Which I have seen reported here and other places.

    My system is a launch day One X, not a Scorpio Edition.

    Wifi Connectivity issues when External Hard drive is plugged in

    Today I tried connecting an external HDD to my Xbox One S (To install new games on It).

    But immediately I got Internet connection Issues. I tried Unplugging my Modem..resetting it...etc.

    Finally I found that Whenever external had drive is connected the internet connection is lost.

    I unplugged my HDD n BOOM!!! Internet is black on!

    Please help me get a solution to it.

    I need to expand my storage via external HDD n get connected at the same time.

    u think they will eventually add 3rd party HDD internal support

    Saw some arguing about it, so figured I'd help people understand.

    External HDDs that are a 2.5mm drive will not have an external power source.
    External HDDs that are a 3.5mm drive will have an external power source. These drives also tend to be bigger.

    But to go back on-topic, being able to plug in an external is a much better option than having to replace your hdd and reinstall everything. Would it be nice to have both? Sure, but the box wasn't made that way so it's not going to happen.

    Bought a game and does not work!

    Not all games on demand support being installed on external HDD's due to the transfer speed of USB vs internal HDD's this could be one of those games.

    I really need a xbox one x owners answer.

    I've had my X since release and haven't had problem with internal HDD or external HDD.

    It's odd that you've Lost 2 HDD so I'm Curious about your power supply and whether it spikes a lot, as I lost a AVR thru power spike frying the boards?

    Seagate external drive (2TB) has stopped working.

    Is the external drive not being recognized by your Xbox? PC? Its possible the external HDD may need to be replaced...

    Game downloads freeze, Xbox One X gets stuck

    Just to avoid unnecessary troubleshooting steps, I have an external HDD, but game updates for those on the external HD work fine. Downloads get stuck only when it comes to what is installed or being installed on the internal HDD. I also tried with the external
    HDD unplugged, same result.

    Media Player not recognising External HDD

    I was messaged personally by Misses Quinzel with a link to this post. The steps that she posted, did nothing for my fiance's external HDD and now we have given up. Nothing is being taken seriously, no one is responding to us on twitter and Xbox chat support
    just told me to buy a new console and external HDD. The console we have is a Day One edition that cost us 450 GBP (British pound) and a external HDD that cost 100 GBP and that total is $682.87 converted to the dollar. That is a lot of money just to be told
    to buy a new console and external HDD. I want answers from a proper developer. I have spent way too much time trying to get someone from twitter or reddit who works for this company to listen, but they don't care. We just passed the 15 year anniversary with
    Xbox being a console but this third generation seems to be more about being flashy than actually caring about the product. The 360 worked fine so why can't the Xbox One do what the developers promise? Is fixing a external HDD that hard?
