One day able to play digital; next day asking me for a disc

Yesterday I received Driver SF on my Xbox One for free (I presume it's gone back compat) and was able to play it digitally. The next day, it is asking me for a disc (which I do have). There was no issues but I am wondering how this happened.

Ideas?

Day One Digital Games

Not sure I know exactly what you are asking but I will answer 2 ways - Every Xbox One game will be available as a digital download on the day the disc version is released. If you mean the Day One special editions I think we do not know yet.

 

I don't want to change discs

I went digital for my games so far but the CoD ghost DL was going great for the first 10% then the DL slowed to a crawl and my launch day console wasn't able to play till the next morning. Not enough to deter me but I hope in the future they allow pre order
downloads that even say 49% is download prior to release day.

To clarify, Driver San Francisco wasn't made free, but if your account already owned it, or if you were signed into the

Home console for an account that already owned it, it would appear in the Ready to Install list under My Games & Apps on that console.

Did you previously purchase this game with your account? If not, then it's likely that you were playing a copy that belonged to another profile. If that profile signed out or if the Home console for that profile changed, then you would no longer have access
to the game via their profile.
