    One/360 Headset compatability

Is it really the case that my sons cannot use their 360 headsets (several models, upgraded as older ones broke) in the xbox one?

It appears that the controllers for each xbox variant have different requirements/jack socket sizes. So now I've got to buy MORE headsets, to use what is essentially the same bit of kit, i.e. a games console.

SHAME ON YOU MICROSOFT, YOU RIP-OFF MERCHANTS. This is unequivocally a deliberate move on their part, as fitting the same size jack socket to One controllers as are in the 360 would be a piece of cake. So far as I can see, NONE of the accessories for 360
    will work on One.

    Bastards.

One very ***-off father with no more money to spend. Microsoft = Macrocon.

    :)

Xbox One Headset on 360 Chat

    Hello,

I'm using an Xbox One, my freind is on the Xbox 360 and wanted me to play a backwards compatability game with him. I started up the 360 game on my One and he invited me to a 360 Party. I joined it but it says I don't have a headset plugged in, even though
my Xbox One controller has the Headset connected and unmute. Can we not communicate if he's on 360 and I'm on One? Is it the headset I'm using? Help please!

  3. Xbox One, destined for failure

I am consideing not buying an Xbox One or jumping ship to PlayStation 4 until:

    1) you restore backward compatability of software: no backward compatability means none of the 360 downloadable purchases transfer to Xbox One. Neither do purchased full disc based games forcing us to leave the 360 plugged in beside your resulting misnomer
"all in one machine". How many times will we need to buy Tetris and Pac-man to play it on our current primary machine!?

    2) you restore backward compatability of hardware: non -backward compatability of USB or wireless peripherals from last generation is unacceptable. No 360 controllers, 360 steering wheels, 360 fight sticks, 360 flight sticks, 360 music instruments, 360 Scene-It
remotes, 360 wireless headsets. I bought all of these but now I am married with a child and cannot justify repurchasing peripherals that should still work This is pure and simple greed and I think customers will punish you for this. PC gamers don't have to
deal with such non-sense why should we?

Please get your heads out of the clouds.

Or you could sell all the "Several Model" 360 headsets and buy an xbox one one, or you could let use know which headsets they are so someone might be able to offer advice, but I bet its just easy to call people/companies names than actually find a solution.

To the OP, the Xbox One has been like this for, well, since it got released all those years ago in late 2013.

Don't blame Microsoft for something that is your fault, you cant assume anything in technology, for example, Apple changed their charging jack on the iPhone and ipod. they did it for a very good reason, and I'm sure Microsoft changed the design on the Xbox
One controller for a very good reason.

    Headset

Are you talking about Turtle Beach headsets for Xbox 360 controllers?

Well, the Xbox 360 controller has a 2.5mm headset port, whereas the Xbox One controller has a
3.5mm headset port, so the existing headset you've used for your Xbox 360 won't be compatible with Xbox One (right off the bat).

Your headset would still work on Xbox One with a 2.5mm-to-3.5mm adapter.

I cannot be heard in Xbox live party chat, but I can hear others and gameplay, adapter seems to be in working order.

    Hello Mimi!

Below is a list of non-compatible headsets:

    Non-compatible headsets

The following headsets are incompatible with the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter:

    • Mad Catz Tritton Warhead headset
    • Mad Catz Tritton Primer headset (Mad Catz offers an adapter for the Primer headset to convert the 2.5-mm audio jack to a 3.5-mm audio jack. Contact Mad Catz for support.)
    • The Xbox 360 Wireless Headset and Xbox 360 Wireless Bluetooth Headset
    • Headsets with this 2.5-mm connector will not work because of the connector format. This connector includes a long, cylindrical pin in the middle of the connecting side that does not fit into the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter.

More info on using compatible headsets with the adapter.

Can I connect my Siberia V2 Cross-Platform headset to XBox One?

I heard that Siberia V2 is only compatible with the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Mac. Not sure if it will work with adapter. The new generation of headsets compatible for Xbox One doesnt include Siberia. See here: www.headphonesunboxed.com/best-xbox-one-headset

is there a way to make the tritton warhead headset to work with chat yet?

That's the wireless headset, right? The wireless chat will not be compatible; the protocol is different between the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. No 360 wireless accessories will work with the One.
