    My children live separately and have an Xbox one console. I have an Xbox 360 console.

    Q1 Am I correct in thinking we can only play xbox 360 online co-op games that have backward compatibility? ie. For Portal 2 would I have to buy them the xbox 360 version rather than the xbox 1 version?

    Perhaps I should just get an xbox one console?

    It is such a shame the only on-line coop lego games are Star Wars Saga (which we have already completed) and Lego World. I would pay a lot for an online coop version of Lego Avengers which they are playing now.

    Q2 Can we play most xbox live games together even though we have different consoles?

    Thankyou for any help for myself and other fathers who would like more time with their children.

    Hi, can I use an Xbox One Controller for playing 360 and OG Xbox games? Will it work for games with local coop too?

    Have Internet but can't connect to LIVE

    NY with Verizon DSL. Xbox 360 Won't connect to Xbox Live, the test fails at the last stage. Plugged the same line into my PC and started a GFWL game on my PC Connected just fine. Plugged it back into the 360 still nothing. Really odd bug if it's Verizion
    related and you can still connect to xbox live Via PCgames using the exact same connection line but not when you use a 360.

    For you all to play together you have to have the same version of the game, so xbox 360 versions for everyone - even if you're on xbox one and they're on xbox 360.

    If you buy an xbox one you can play with the xbox one version if you both have it.

    Yes, you can play on xbox live with the games on either version but you may not be able to play together if you have different console versions of the game.
