Omg I'm done with you Xbox.

For the past couple months I've been getting *** by my Xbox. I've gotten signed out of my entire profile just for switching games or apps. I've been getting horrible downloads ex( I tried to download destiny beta, dishonored, and orange box and when I start
them up they would proceed to either not work at all, or give me terribly long loading screens and horrible textures and frame rate). Orange box especially I had to redownload it 4 whole times before it worked. And now battlefield BC2. Every single time I
get to the desert map the game tells me my disk is unreadable, and I'm now on my 3rd redownload. Sorry if my rantesk little story was a bit longwinded. Thanks for your input.

Sorry about your issues there.

Do games run from disc cause you any problems as in poor frame rates or strange textures? I'm thinking your console's hard drive may be failing, but if disc games also have these issues then your console maybe at fault.

Then in that case, it sounds like the hard drive failing. Long loading times, strange textures and read errors from downloaded games all point to a failing hard drive. There is a way to test this theory as well, but you will need a suitably sized USB flash
drive.

Once you have a flash drive configured for Xbox storage you will need to download something directly to it. You could try either a demo or even one of your full games. To download directly to a Flash drive you need to do the following:

Choose something to download on your console, it doesn't really matter what (you're going to cancel it anyway see). Before that download finishes, choose what you actually want to download to the flash drive and add it to the download queue. Go to your download
queue, go to the second download that is queued and change the download location to the Flash drive. Now cancel the first download. The second item that was queued will now download to the flash drive.

Once it is finished, test out your downloaded content. Does it behave the same as when you downloaded to the hard drive or does it work ok now? If it works fine, you will need to replace your hard drive.
