is subjective, therefore your taste in [tag:HORROR] films does not equate to mine. Deferring to the OP because she broached the subject.

 

Well yes she reviews movies but I do not know the ins and the outs of it hence whatever else she does. I do not work with her. Either way I couldn't care less whether you believe me or not. Sorry it upset you that I didn't like a movie you are looking forward
to or upset you that I've seen it already. Reasons why I didn't like it are below.

*** spoilers about the movie****I just thought it was bad because it all took place in one spot. There were 6 characters in the movie excluding the people she skyped on her phone. They had the most miniscule roles as well. It was bloody boring. The way she
killed it would never happen in real life. It wasn't even a little bit believable.. It was definitely a B rated movie.

 

Does it really matter what brandiesels sister does for a living, BluSwirl?! She does what she does and brand is in a fortunate position of getting to watch films early, although by his own admission it's wasted on him lol!

The Shallows trailer shown before Suicide Squad started looked good and I look forward to watching it, but yeah, opinions are subjective. Just like the 4k debate. I look forward to buying a 4k tv next year but I won't be upgrading a huge chunk of my Bluray
collection like I did DVD > Bluray, maybe the odd few of my faves. I don't even think the 1080p > 4k transition will be as mesmerising as the SD > HD transition was but I may very well be surprised.

 

^^ You never know. Like I said earlier when I saw Toy Story playing in 4k it was ridiculous how good it was. In my opinion I had the same feeling I did when I saw SD to HD for the first time. Also important to note, it was the highest priced TV on display.

 

I 100% believe you regarding Toy Story in 4k because the first Bluray to make me say 'Wow!' was Tangled. Another Disney/Pixar movie, hmm...

Weird, I somehow missed the part where anyone here said they were giving a "professional" opinion.

 

Yeah Pixar movies look good. Can they remaster all old movies in 4k? My all time favourite movie is Predator. I'd love to see that in 4k.

 

Predator will no doubt get a 4k release but it won't be remastered. I could be wrong but I'm sure the Predator Bluray is one of the worst DVD > Bluray transfers for a blockbuster! No doubt LucasArts will fully remaster the SW films as best they can like
they did on Bluray but the majority of films pre 4k technology will just be repackaged and could look slightly better. I think people may see what they think others want them to see visually, a bit like the emporers clothes syndrome. Put it this way, let's
use Dirty Harry as an example. I have the Bluray boxset and you know it's a 70's film, that film on 4k ain't gonna look any different and certainly won't look as good as a 2016 film.

From what I've noticed, upgrading an old 480p SD movie into 1080p HD has its limitations, but the results of the upgrade are still wonderful

A perfect example of this is when I watched The Little Memaid DVD on my 1080p TV and The Little Mermaid Blu-ray on my 1080p TV. The difference was amazing

I can't see how an old movie like The Little Mermaid is going to look much different in 4K from 1080p given that it (The Little Mermaid) was made a long, long, long time ago.

Also, resonating on what others have said, the true performance of 4k quality is going to be seen on the movies that are made from 4k to begin with.

We are just getting a taste of 4k with 1080p movies being upgraded into 4K

Imagine what a 4K movie is going to look like using 4K optimized recording equipment

I am not a fan of the Wii U, I'm so sorry

I am looking forward to the following games

(1) Dead Space 4

(2) Mass Effect 4

(3) Hitman --> After ALL of the content has been released

(4) The Walking Dead season 3

The games that I like haven't been released yet (in the case of Hitman, it is still incomplete). I am an Xbox Girl and that is the way it is going to be LOL

Also, I was given a Wii Mini as a present from my free babysitting (I was helping out my friends, babysitting is expensive) and I got bored of the Wii Mini in a week.

Both of my consoles(ps4 & x1) are used for movies and video games.

 

@brandiesel1, @ma71lda: I only made reference to "professional" opinions and queried brandiesel's sister's occupation because he said she reviews discs for a living. Or something. In other words, based upon the little information that I had, I concluded
- rightly or wrongly - that her opinion of a movie would be more "professional" than his... speaking as he did, off the cuff, delivering a ONE WORD assessment of a movie he hadn't legally purchased, or perhaps had written off for [tag:reasons].

Brandiesel, thank you for apologizing and stating those reasons, even if you *did* manage to SPOIL the ending for me. Well done you! I'm only getting hot under the collar about this because it seems flippant that somebody who viewed the film FREE OF CHARGE
would have the nerve to criticize it, whereas most *paying* folk would have a legitimate reason to feel disgruntled or out of pocket.

Going forward, I must remember that we are all entitled to our [tag:feelpinions], and will respectfully step back, as we are veering way off topic.

^ That's what I was wondering. Apparently I missed that memo too.

 

So today I had to go to DiD Electrical to exchange a faulty camera and while I was there I had to look at the 4k sets. I asked the lady about HDR and she said only a few there supported it. Anyway, she shown me a Sony 60" that was 4k on the left side of
the screen and 4k with HDR on the right. The difference was pretty big in my opinion. I didn't know that you could steam Netflix in 4k. Also she said only Sony models support HDR which I'm not sure if that is accurate.
