Omg! I love you guys so much right now!!! You have no idea. I was literally fixing to break my ***. I changed modems because I was sick of paying $7 renters fee so I hooked up a new one. My account stopped working and everytime I tried to sign it, it did
this. So, I did what you all suggested and it worked. I am so relieved.

Never used the movies and tv app. Might give it a try and let my youngest son watch something. I honestly think I have never played a movie or tv show on my console. Not even streaming. I plan to see a movie or something and end up playing a game. Outside
of a few shows from Amazon Instant I watched with my wife a few months back I have not watched tv in over 10 years (wow, did not realize until thinking about it).

Came into this thread hoping to uncover more stories about the GAMES we all know and love, and here's Lei Fang again, waxing lyrical over Movies & TV. Diff'rent strokes for different folks, but I share Guerrero's view that my Xbox is primarily a GAMES system,
and have never bothered with the TV channel. Ewww! If I want to view exciting new Blu-rays (like Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal - the only Anime I'm interested in atm, or upcoming films like Neighbors 2, The Neon Demon and The Shallows - all arriving
in September), then I have a dedicated viewing platform for that...

It's called a PlayStation 3 haha!

 

I watched The Shallows about 3 weeks ago. It was terrible. I get review discs usually about 2 months before movies get released in the theatres. The only annoying thing is there is a message at the top of the movie while its playing saying "this is for review
purposes only" and it stays there for about 10 minutes. The Neon Demon was okay.

In regards to the Xbox One I love it too, but I only play games.

 

@brandiesel1: Whatcha mean "review discs"? The Shallows is currently showing *in theaters* in Australia, and doesn't officially get released to the US home market until September 27. Not that I place a lot of faith in critics, but the general consensus is
that it's a solid and SCARY movie! I know that taste can be subjective, but I recently bought [tag:HORROR] from the USA, and while the critics #HATED it with a passion, I loved it!

@Lei - genuine question, have you considered a WiiU? the games for that system seem to me as though they may fit your demographic more?

 

Until Xbox Slim arrived I never used my Xbox for nothing but gaming, chatting online with mates.

Always been a big movie/show fan and now being able to watch more 4K/HDR movies my Xbox is no longer just a games machine. My viewing experience just jumped up ALOT!

 

Bluswirl my sister gets them from her work. They always release movie disc way in advance even if reviews aren't published yet. She said it has to do with potential Oscar nominations which she says they have lined up and picked out long before the movies
hit cinemas.

from her work"? Wait, WUT? :O

In other words, your opinion of a movie that is NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR HOME VIEWING means diddly squat because [you] are not the critic, per se, but merely somebody who has access to early review discs?! Seriously... people are paying top dollar to view the
film *in theaters* and you're saying it's terrible based on what? Your sister's "work"? What's her job then? Because YOU'RE obviously not qualified to give a professional opinion.

No my sister gets the discs early to view and whatever else she does. When she is finished she sends them to me. I watched it myself a few weeks ago. I only watched it because it was a horror flick. Normally my wife watches them.

 

LMAO! Who knew you had to be a professional critic in order to have an opinion about a movie?

 

But these discs, are 720, 1080 or 4k? Only joking! ;-)

As a movie fan I'm actually quite envious of you Brand and that's very seldom. Nice.

 

The very first disc I received from her to watch before it hit cinemas was the 2nd Lord of the Rings movie. Thing is I'm not much of a movie buff. I don't really watch many. Upgrading to 4k isn't important to me in regards to film. I only really care about
4k when it comes to gaming which by the way I've never seen a game running in 4k.
