I remember being heavily active on the Xbox dot com forums back around 2006 through 2013.

There was a time where it was just about perfect that I went on it daily & was the only gaming forum I cared to use.

Over time it got far worse, seemingly neglected, and basically became totally useless for me & others as well.

At this point Twitter is now my favorite source to connect with other Xbox gamers.

I would like to see it come back to the way it was but it's doubtful.

I would love to give MS & the Xbox team more feedback but their ways to handle most of it is horribly lackluster & more of a nuisance than it's worth.

    :)

I've been using these forums since 2010. Not quite as long as you but maybe we can get Scrtch (aka Scratch) to come and talk about the good old days. I think forums in general have dropped off a bit not just the Xbox forums. I'm heavily involved on Twitter
too. Discord and Reddit. And yet I'm also still here. A lot has changed over the years on here and they're about to change again with the move to the MS Answers platform. But I've met a lot of great people on theses forums over the years. I keep going with
the flow and wherever the forums go I go with them.

Here since 2007 and there's been a steady decline in functionality, look, user friendliness etc etc but I'm still here.

The thing is, that as newer generations of Xbox gamers join the Xbox community, their means of communications are mainly the social networks like Facebook, Twitter and the likes. They don't need a forum to talk to likeminded people.

I might sound like that old grumpy guy that laments on how they had to go to school uphill both ways and having only a stick to play with, but back then there was no Facebook and Twitter, and Forums were the place to go if you wanted to talk to other Xbox fans.

So with users shifting to social networks, it's far easier to have Facebook, Twitter etc. handle the technical background of hosting a platform, than to keep a forum running that only a few old geezers like us used.

If you want to provide feedback that is actually read and listened to, you can try
    Xbox Ideas, powered by UserVoice

That's how the Xbox backwards compatibility feature was made. Fans wished for it, and Xbox listened to the feedback.

I agree that these forums could be an absolutely terrific place for xbox gamers to connect and talk games, I believe that it has the potential to rebound and return to the point it used to be at but it would take some marketing push by Microsoft to make
it happen. If they sweeten the deal with some MS Reward points for forum activity then I could see it.
