Old Xbox LIVE friendship please help

Hey guys. This is probably something you couldn't care less about but I really need your help. Im from Northern Ireland and I desperately need to find someone whom I used to be best friends with on Xbox LIVE around 3 years ago until he sent a message to
all friends saying that he would return in 2 weeks, and then never actually returned. Here's a bit of back story. His name is Derek and he comes from Washington DC. His gamer tag was TizxJahlive08 and he was literally my best buddy. I would arrange a time
to come on despite the time barrier just so I could talk to him, be it early in the morning or late at night, I just loved playing Halo 3 with him. But now he's gone and I haven't spoken to him once within the past 3 years and I honestly miss him. We promised
each other we would meet some day and start a pizza company, but then he disappeared. I promise you guys I am not a troll, I just want to speak to Derek again. If you guys can help please do. My gamertag when we used to play video games together was HeavyTheDGuy,
and if he heard it, he would know who i am. Please help friends because I miss the guy.

How Can I Setup my Xbox Live account on my Old Xbox and no it's not an Xbox 360, just an Xbox

I can not connect to Xbox Live on my old Xbox, can someone please help me out with this?

Do you have no mutual friends? Your best bet would be reaching out to them, if they exist, and see if they know anything about what is going on.

Well according to his profile he hasn't earned any achievements since 2011 so he may have just left Xbox and gaming altogether. Have you tried messaging him on Live at all or try contacting one of his friends on Live to see if they know where he's at?

Isn't there a feature on the One now where you can search for someones gamertag by entering their real name? Worth a go if you knew his surname. Although I think it only works if they accepted the ability to share their real name.

 

Sorry i can't help find this guy for you but I know where your coming from op, i had a guy called SmartKingS MAN on the original xbox we used to play Counter strike all the time together.

Then one day he went off saying his usual "see ya later , good games and i'll see ya tomorrow" or what not... but that was it never came back on. I have kept his tag on my friends list just incase.

 

I`ve had the same happen. As they lived local I found out that my gamer buddy was killed in a car crash.

Very difficult to trace someone unless you have their real details.

I knew him. He's on my friends list and his last played game was Battlefield Bad Company 2. I miss him too honestly because he was one of my first friends on xbox live. I don't know what happened to him but i hope nothing bad happenend.
